Garver is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Oakland.

The Rangers are playing a day game after a night game, and Garver had started 12 of the previous 13 contests, so he appears to be receiving a breather Wednesday. Sam Huff will do the catching for Jordan Montgomery.

Vazquez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Vazquez and Ryan Jeffers continue to alternate starts behind the dish, and it'll be the latter's turn to catch Wednesday. Since the All-Star break, Vazquez has been a serviceable performer with a .256 average, two home runs and seven RBI in 13 games, but being stuck in a timeshare with Jeffers limits his overall fantasy upside.

Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

The lefty-hitting Soderstrom will ride the bench for the series finale while the Rangers bring southpaw Jordan Montgomery to the hill. With Soderstrom sitting out, Shea Langeliers will start at catcher and Jordan Diaz will serve as Oakland's designated hitter.

Heim took batting practice Tuesday for the first time since suffering a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Heim took about 15-20 swings of pitching from Rangers hitting instructor Tim Hyers and also caught a bullpen session. Texas manager Bruce Bochy left open the possibility that Heim could face live pitching as early as Monday and potentially return during the team's six-game homestand next week. The plan calls for the switch-hitting Heim to bat from the left side only, as the left wrist is non-dominant when swinging from that side.

Rutschman went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's loss to Houston.

Rutschman tagged Framber Valdez for a two-run shot in the second inning, bringing James McCann around to score and marking Rutschman's seventh consecutive game recording an RBI. Over that stretch, he's hitting 9-for-27 (.333) with five runs scored and has struck out just once in 32 plate appearances.

Grandal was removed from Tuesday's game against the Yankees with left knee soreness.

Grandal previously missed time in June due to soreness in his right knee, and now his left knee is giving him problems as well. He's officially listed as day-to-day, suggesting the injury may not be too severe. However, more information will likely come after Tuesday's game.

Rogers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Twins.

Rogers continues to increase his career high in home runs, as he now has 14 this season, which is four more than he had in his entire career coming into the year. The catcher also struck out again Tuesday, something he's doing 33 percent of the time this season. Rogers will likely remain a boom-or-bust option the rest of the way given his all-or-nothing approach at the plate.

Thaiss is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Giants.

Chad Wallach will start at catcher and bat ninth as the Angels take on left-handed opener Scott Alexander, who is expected to be followed by fellow southpaw Alex Wood. Thaiss, a left-handed hitter, continues to draw the large majority of his playing time versus righties.

Perez (hand) is back in the lineup Tuesday at Boston.

Perez will start at catcher and bat cleanup versus the Red Sox and right-hander Kutter Crawford after taking a pitch off his left hand in Sunday's series finale against the Phillies. He suffered only a bruise.

O'Hoppe (shoulder) said Monday that he's starting a rehab assignment with Single-A Inland Empire on Tuesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Angels manager Phil Nevin stated last Wednesday that O'Hoppe was on track to start his rehab stint the following week, and that has come to fruition with the catcher joining the Single-A club Tuesday. O'Hoppe hasn't seen any game action since suffering a torn labrum in a game April 20, and he's expected to need most or all of the 20-day rehab window before he's ready to return to the big club.
