Kirk will get a breather while Tyler Heineman starts behind home plate and bats ninth. Kirk has been hot at the plate and has gone 16-for-40 (.400) with eight RBI over his last 13 games.

Dingler is not in the Tigers' starting lineup against the Cubs on Saturday.

Dingler will get a breather for the second time in three games while Jake Rogers starts behind home plate and bats eighth. Dingler has slashed .346/.382/.519 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 55 plate appearances over his last 15 games.

Teel went 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks Friday against the Royals.

Teel made his big-league debut Friday night, hitting sixth while starting behind the plate. He worked a walk in his first plate appearance and laced a single to left field in the fourth inning for his first big-league hit. Teel should be a regular in the White Sox's lineup, though it remains unclear whether he will mix in at first base or designated hitter in addition to his work at catcher.

D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Mariners.

D'Arnaud's homer in the fourth inning tied the game at 4-4. The catcher isn't quite alternating starts with fellow backstop Logan O'Hoppe, but d'Arnaud has done enough with the bat lately to command more than just a backup role. He is 11-for-33 (.333) with two homers, two doubles and five RBI over his last 10 games. For the season, he has a .233/.281/.367 slash line, two homers, six RBI and four runs scored across 96 plate appearances.

Naylor is not in Cleveland's starting lineup against Houston on Friday.

Naylor will get a breather in the midst of a mini-slump, having gone 1-for-23 with 11 strikeouts over his last eight games. With Austin Hedges (concussion) on the 7-day injured list, Dom Nunez will start behind home plate and bat ninth.

The Guardians selected Nunez's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

The Guardians will turn to Nunez to serve as their temporary backup catcher while Austin Hedges (concussion) is on the injured list. Nunez has slashed just .136/.266/.369 through 125 plate appearances in the minors this season.

The Guardians placed Hedges on the 7-day concussion IL on Friday.

Hedges will be eligible to return from the injured list next Friday, though his activation will depend on how quickly he's able to progress through MLB's concussion protocol. While Hedges is out, Dom Nunez will come up from Triple-A Columbus to give Cleveland extra depth at catcher.

The Athletics placed Langeliers on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left oblique strain.

Langeliers was removed in the middle of his at-bat in the sixth inning of Thursday's game against the Twins after tweaking his oblique. He'll undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury, but the 27-year-old catcher could be facing a lengthy stint on the IL. The Athletics will turn to Willie MacIver and Jhonny Pereda to serve behind home plate for as long as Langeliers is on the shelf.

The Athletics recalled Pereda from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

With Shea Langeliers (oblique) headed for the injured list, the A's will call upon Pereda to replenish the big club's depth behind the plate. The 29-year-old backstop has gone just 6-for-36 in the majors this season and will presumably work as a temporary backup to Willie MacIver.

O'Hoppe is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

O'Hoppe will be rested for Friday's contest while Travis d'Arnaud serves behind home plate and bats sixth. O'Hoppe has struggled at the plate as of late, having gone 3-for-26 with one RBI and a 40.7 percent strikeout rate over his last eight games.
