Leon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Philadelphia.

Leon's third-inning homer, his first hit in 12 at-bats, gave the Red Sox an early lead. After Boston reclaimed the lead late, he executed a perfect throw following a dropped third strike to nail Asdrubal Cabrera at first base for the final out of the game. Leon hasn't had a full day off since July 31, so one must be coming soon. The Red Sox had been getting by with journeyman Dan Butler as the backup catcher, but the more experienced Blake Swihart (hamstring) was activated off the disabled list Tuesday and is ready to resume his backup duties.

Perez went 2-for-5 with a run, an RBI and two doubles in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Perez hit an RBI double in the third inning and later slashed another double, giving him 17 on the year. Although Perez's slash line is a bit disappointing (.232/.273/.424) he still ranks third in home runs (19) and fourth in RBI (56) among all MLB catchers.

Stassi is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Martin Maldonado draws the start in the series opener. There's been a fairly even split in playing time between Stassi and Maldonado, who is making his second consecutive start.

Sanchez no longer feels pain in his groin but is not yet running at 100 percent Tuesday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Sanchez is back in the Bronx to continue his rehab. His recovery timeline is not yet clear, but the Yankees are hoping to have him playing in minor-league rehab games sometime next week, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The team figure to proceed cautiously with the backstop, as he lasted just four days before re-injuring his groin the last time he returned from the disabled list. Austin Romine will continue to start in his absence.

Narvaez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

Narvaez will sit after starting three of the last four games behind the plate. Kevan Smith will get the call in his place.

Perez is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of The Athletic Tampa Bay reports.

Perez and Jesus Sucre have alternated starts as the Rays' catcher over the last six games. Sucre gets the call Tuesday.

Narvaez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's 9-5 loss to the Tigers.

Narvaez's sixth-inning blast knotted the game before the White Sox's bullpen allowed five runs over the final three innings. A career backup catcher, Narvaez has added a wrinkle to that narrative in 2018. He was batting just .188 on May 24 when MLB slapped starter Welington Castillo with an 80-game suspension. If there are no rainouts, Castillo is eligible to return Aug. 22 and presumably reclaim his spot as the team's top catcher, but that might not happen. Narvaez has raked in Castillo's absence. Since June 7, the backup has hit .375 (39-for-104) and slugged .606 over 35 games. His average stands at a career-best .281. The 26-year-old has seized an opportunity and given White Sox manager Rick Renteria something to consider when Castillo is eligible to return.

McCann went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in Monday's win over the White Sox.

It's been a disappointing season for the 28-year-old catcher, as he's batting just .229 with a .606 OPS and was relegated to eighth in the lineup for Monday's game. However, McCann does have five hits over his past two games, and he could salvage his fantasy value somewhat with a strong finish to the year.

Perez went 2-for-3 with a double in a loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Perez continues to profile extremely well offensively in the early stages of his big-league career. Factoring in Sunday's production, the 26-year-old is slashing .353/.378/.529, with one-third of his 12 hits going for extra bases.

Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the 8-2 loss to St. Louis on Sunday.

Kansas City couldn't muster up much offense against Tyson Ross and Perez was the only Royal with a multi-hit effort. He's still batting just .232 on the year, a considerable drop-off from his career .267 average.
