Donaldson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

It's the third consecutive game on the bench for Donaldson, who has gone 3-for-37 in his past 12 games. New York has a scheduled day off Monday, so the veteran third baseman will have four straight days to reset before Tuesday's series opener at Oakland. Donaldson will continue to have a regular role after this stretch, as manager Aaron Boone reiterated Sunday the 37-year-old is "going to play a lot," according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Urias started the past 11 games but will take a seat Sunday after going 3-for-19 over the last week. The 29-year-old could see his playing time take a hit with Aaron Hicks and Ryan O'Hearn carrying hot bats and since Cedric Mullins (groin) is back from the injured list.

Escobar went 2-for-4 with a walk, four runs and an RBI in a 25-1 rout against Colorado on Saturday.

In his first contest since being acquired from the Mets in a trade Friday, Escobar was part of an offensive onslaught during which the Angels produced franchise records with 25 runs and 28 hits. The infielder made a good first impression, scoring four times before being replaced in the field late in the game. Escobar started at third base in his debut contest with Los Angeles and could see near-everyday opportunities there until Anthony Rendon (wrist) is able to return from the injured list.

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a grand slam home run and a double in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.

Bregman served up the biggest blow in Houston's five-run fifth inning when he belted a grand slam to left field off rookie hurler Bobby Miller. It was his second homer in his past four contests and extended a hot six-game stretch during which the third baseman has slashed .417/.481/.833 with two long balls, nine RBI and a stolen base. Bregman's .249/.344/.410 slash line on the season remains subpar by his standards, but he's showing signs of heating up.

Burger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Red Sox.

Burger took Josh Winckowski deep to tally his 17th homer of the season and seventh in his last 20 games. Despite that impressive power production, Burger has struck out at a 42.4 percent clip and is hitting just .157 in the same span. While he should continue to see playing time so long as Yoan Moncada (back) is sidelined, Burger hasn't made a great case to stick in the lineup in the long term.

The Rockies traded Moustakas to the Angels on Saturday in exchange for right-handed pitcher Connor Van Scoyoc, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Moustakas was signed to a minor-league contract by the Rockies and made the Opening Day roster, and the veteran infielder has hit .270/.360/.435 over 115 at-bats in 47 games with four homers and 17 RBI. The 34-year-old should see time at first base with the Angels and play mostly against right-handed pitching while hitting in the mid-to-bottom part of the lineup.

Candelario went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Padres.

Candelario had gone 11 games without a homer, though he hit .270 (10-for-37) in that span. His blast came off Matt Waldron in the first inning and was ultimately all Washington needed in the win. Candelario has hit safely in seven of his last nine games and is up to a .255/.333/.454 slash line with nine long balls, 33 RBI, 35 runs scored, two stolen bases and 23 doubles over 72 contests in 2023. He continues to hold down a starting job at third base.

Rendon (wrist) was able to play catch on the field prior to Saturday's game versus the Rockies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Angels manager Phil Nevin told reporters that Rendon's wrist continues to feel better. The infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list June 19 because of a contusion on his left wrist, and it's not known yet if he'll require a rehab stint before rejoining the club. Rendon is eligible to come off the injured list June 26, but fantasy managers will need to wait for updates and shouldn't assume he's back with the club on that date.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Muncy (hamstring) will take live at-bats Sunday and be activated from the injured list Tuesday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Muncy has been out since June 13 with a strained left hamstring, and he will be back in the starting lineup when he returns Tuesday against Colorado. The 32-year-old slugger is slashing .191/.323/.474 with 18 homers and 45 RBI across 251 plate appearances this season.

Paredes is not starting Saturday's game against the Royals.

Paredes entered Saturday's game having started 16 consecutive games at third base. He'd hit .271 with an impressive 1.063 OPS in that span, so this should just be a regular day of rest. Vidal Brujan will enter the lineup at second base while Taylor Walls will shift to third base.
