  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Blasts walkoff Wednesday

Senzel went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI, two runs scored and a steal in Wednesday's win over Texas.

Senzel smacked a two-run home run off Jonathan Hernandez in the bottom of the ninth, his first long ball of the season, giving the Reds a 5-3 win and a sweep of the Rangers. Senzel also logged a base hit in the fifth inning before stealing his second bag of the year. He was initially scheduled to get Wednesday's game off, though Sentzel took over at third base when Wil Myers (illness) was scratched. The 28-year-old Senzel is now 5-for-8 with four RBI in his last two games. He's slashing .227/.292/.318 with seven RBI and eight runs scored through 48 plate appearances.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

    Marlins' Jean Segura: Sitting out

Segura is absent from the Marlins' lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

It's a simple day of rest for the veteran third baseman. With Segura getting a night off, Jon Berti will start at the hot corner.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Getting Wednesday off

Paredes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Paredes will take a seat after he started in each of the previous three games while reaching base five times in 12 plate appearances during that stretch. Though Paredes is locked in as the Rays' primary third baseman, he's still expected to sit at least once or twice per week while manager Kevin Cash looks to keep utility man Taylor Walls and his hot bat involved.

  • Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Making fifth straight start

Sosa is in the Phillies' lineup Wednesday versus the Mariners for the fifth straight game, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia Philadelphia reports.

It's also Sosa's third straight start against a right-hander. The Phillies' injuries are part of the equation, but Sosa has earned the playing time by batting .311/.333/.578 with three home runs. Sosa's emergence at third base has meant a shift over to first base for Alec Bohm.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Takes seat Wednesday

Baty is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

The Mets are still choosing to hold out the lefty-hitting Baty against southpaws, so he'll give way to Eduardo Escobar at third base with lefty MacKenzie Gore on the hill for Washington. Baty has collected six hits and a pair of RBI through 25 plate appearances this season.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Avoids structural damage to hand

Jung was diagnosed with a left hand contusion after exiting Wednesday's game against the Reds in the top of the third inning, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Jung picked up the injury in question during his first at-bat of the day in the top of the second, when he was hit by a pitch. He was able to take his base and then played the field for the next half inning, only to exit the contest when his next turn came up in the batting order. Fortunately for Jung, preliminary X-rays have ruled out any structural damage to his hand, but he should still be viewed as day-to-day heading into Thursday's series opener versus the Yankees.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Exits after HBP

Jung exited Wednesday's game against the Reds after being hit by a pitch on his left hand, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Fortunately for Jung, the injury is to his non-dominant hand, but he should be considered day-to-day in any case until the Rangers provide an update. Ezequiel Duran entered the game as a pinch hitter to replace Jung, who entered Tuesday having slugged three home runs with 11 RBI in his last 11 games. He had struck out at a 42.9 percent clip during that stretch, however.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Laces triple Tuesday

Peterson went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple in a loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

Peterson's first-inning three-bagger, his first of the season, plated Ryan Noda to give the Athletics an early lead. The veteran's triple represented a brief reprieve from the 1-for-17 funk he'd gone into the contest with, but he's still sitting on a .190/.288/.302 slash line across 73 plate appearances this season.

  • Michael Busch 1B | CHC

Dodgers' Michael Busch: Reaches twice in MLB debut

Busch went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-7 win against Pittsburgh.

Busch was called up from the minors prior to the contest and batted seventh while serving as Los Angeles' designated hitter in his first major-league game. The 25-year-old struck out during the second inning in his first at-bat and followed that with a groundout in the fourth before notching his first big-league hit and RBI with a single in the sixth. He walked in his final plate appearance and came around to score on a Chris Taylor home run. Busch's call-up coincided with Max Muncy going on the paternity list, so the rookie's current stay with the big club may not be long.

  • Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI

Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Stuck in slump

Castro went 1-for-4 Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Castro got off to a hot start after becoming an everyday player in the absence of Oneil Cruz (ankle). However, he's in the midst of a cold stretch, as he's collected only three hits in his last 22 at-bats across seven games. Overall, he's still hitting .258/.370/.403 in 73 plate appearances.
