Peterson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Twins on Saturday.

Peterson recorded his 10th stolen base of the season as part of a double steal with rookie Zack Gelof in the sixth inning, marking his third straight season with double-digit swipes. The veteran now has a modest three-game hitting streak but continues to carry an uninspiring .212/.301/.314 slash line for the season.

Wisdom is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Wisdom smacked a home run Saturday, his 15th of the year, but he'll give way to Miles Mastrobuoni on Sunday. Wisdom should still start at the hot corner most days moving forward, especially with Nick Madrigal (hamstring) on the injured list.

Candelario (thumb) is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

A bone bruise in his right thumb forced Candelario from Friday's game and kept him out of the lineup Saturday. Fortunately for Washington, the third baseman will be able to return for the series finale in St. Louis, which keeps him in the spotlight for potential trade partners. Candelario is slashing .260/.336/.477 with 27 doubles and 13 homers in 363 plate appearances so far this season.

Gelof went 1-for-4 with a triple, two stolen bases and two runs in a loss to the Twins on Saturday.

A day after lacing an RBI double in his big-league debut, Gelof had an even more impactful extra-base hit with his third-inning triple. The rookie then made the most of reaching via a fielder's choice groundout in the sixth, recording swipes of both second and third base -- the latter on a double steal in conjunction with Jace Peterson -- and subsequently coming home on a Nick Allen sacrifice fly. Gelof's early success is a potential boon for both the frequently run-starved Athletics and fantasy managers, as he's already proven capable of contributing across the board offensively.

The Yankees recalled Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

With Josh Donaldson (calf) headed for the 10-day injured list, Peraza will come up to provide the Yankees with additional infield depth. Peraza is slashing .261/.352/.495 this season in Triple-A, but he's struggled heavily during his limited major-league opportunities.

The Yankees placed Donaldson on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right calf strain.

Donaldson's right calf gave him problems once again during Saturday's win over Colorado, and he'll now be placed on the shelf for 10 days after an MRI revealed a strain. Oswald Peraza was brought up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move.

The Brewers placed Anderson (back) on the 10-day injured list Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Anderson has been dealing with back discomfort, and it's now come to light that he has a strain in his lower back, so he will be sidelined indefinitely. Jahmai Jones was recalled in a corresponding move while Andruw Monasterio will get the start at third base in Sunday's series finale in Cincinnati.

The Pirates optioned Castro to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday.

Castro's performance slipped in June and his playing time dried up, so he will head to the minors for the first time this season and attempt to get back on track with regular at-bats. The 24-year-old has a .228/.317/.355 line in 224 plate appearances with the big club this year, a step back from 2022. Andrew McCutchen (elbow) took Castro's spot on the active roster.

Machado went 1-for-7 with a solo home run and two walks during Saturday's doubleheader against Philadelphia.

Machado's clutch 425-foot solo shot in the eighth inning of Game 1 gave San Diego a one-run lead, though the Phillies ultimately stormed back to win that contest before also taking Game 2. The long ball was the 300th of Machado's career, making him one of 11 active big-leaguers to reach that mark. The veteran third baseman has been swinging a potent stick of late, smashing eight homers and driving in 18 runs over his past 11 contests.

Burger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double Saturday in a 6-5 victory versus Atlanta.

Burger produced arguably the biggest hit of the contest, swatting a solo shot off Spencer Strider in the sixth inning to snap a 4-4 tie. The long ball was the 20th of the season for Burger, fifth-most in the American League. That power has helped Burger remain in the lineup most days despite a 33.0 percent strikeout rate and .222 batting average.
