Baty is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rays.

Mark Vientos -- who was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse earlier Wednesday -- will play third base against lefty Josh Fleming. With Vientos and Eduardo Escobar around as options at the hot corner, Baty might be benched regularly versus southpaws for the time being.

Machado (hand) remains out of the Padres' lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Royals, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Machado exited Monday's game and sat out Tuesday with a bruised left hand. With Thursday being an off day, it makes sense to rest him again and hope he can be ready for the weekend series versus the Red Sox.

Moustakas is not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati on Wednesday, Suzie Hunter of TheDNVR.com reports.

Moustakas is expected to handle the majority of the reps at first base with C.J. Cron (back) on the injured list, but the veteran infielder will take a seat for the series finale against the Reds on Wednesday. Michael Toglia will get the start at first and hit seventh.

Sosa is not in the starting lineup against the Giants on Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Sosa will sit for the second straight game, with the infielder currently in the midst of an 0-for-14 skid over his last four games. Alec Bohm will handle the hot corner and hit seventh with Kody Clemens hitting ninth while lining up at first base.

Davis is out of the Giants' lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Phillies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Davis had started the previous nine contests but will get a day off for the series finale. Wilmer Flores will enter the lineup at designated hitter while Davis takes a seat.

Farmer is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Dodgers.

Farmer will take a seat after he went 3-for-9 with a solo homer, four RBI, two walks and two strikeouts over the first two games of the series. The 32-year-old's hit streak has now reached seven games, and he's batting .370 with two home runs, seven RBI, six run scored and three walks over that stretch. Willi Castro will draw the start at third base and bat eighth in the series finale with Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Urshela went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-3 loss against the Orioles.

Urshela led off the fifth inning with a double before scoring on Zach Neto's base hit. The 31-year-old Urshela would add a second hit in the sixth, driving in Matt Thaiss to cut Anaheim's deficit to 4-3. Urshela has swung that bat well recently, slashing .341/.357/.415 over his last 11 games. He'd been filling a utility role for the Angels, though he'll take over as the regular third baseman while Anthony Rendon (groin) is sidelined. Urshela is batting .295 with one homer and a .667 OPS through 151 plate appearances on the campaign.

Candelario went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Marlins.

Candelario has gone 5-for-7 in his last two games after mustering just three hits in his previous eight contests. He's now slashing .234/.298/.390 with four home runs through 171 plate appearances this season. While Candelario doesn't offer a ton of offensive upside, he's been playing regularly at third base on a rebuilding Nationals team.

Maton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Maton will take a seat while the Tigers deploy a lineup of nine right-handed hitters to counter Pirates southpaw Rich Hill. The lefty-hitting Maton could soon be in danger of seeing fewer opportunities against right-handed pitching as well; he's getting on base at a .194 clip in May and is maintaining a lowly .564 OPS over 130 plate appearances on the season.

Burger went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Guardians.

Burger took Shane Bieber deep in the fifth inning to tally his ninth homer of the season. It was his second long ball in as many games since he returned from an oblique injury Sunday, and he should get regular run as the White Sox's designated hitter so long as Eloy Jimenez (abdomen) is sidelined. Overall, Burger has hit .253/.329/.680 across 85 plate appearances, albeit with a 31.8 percent strikeout rate.
