Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Getting Saturday off

Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS
Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Receives injection
Mayer received an injection in his right wrist Saturday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Mayer will be shut down from all activities for three days following his injection. Once they see how the 22-year-old responds to his treatment, the Red Sox will begin to plan out his next steps, which will likely involve him heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment at some point.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
White Sox's Josh Rojas: Homers from nine hole in win
Rojas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's 6-3 win over the Angels.
Rojas added a big insurance run to the White Sox's tally in the top of the ninth inning. That brings his total up to just two on the season -- an entirely forgettable campaign so far. The infielder is slashing a mere .176/.246/.261 on the season, with his .508 OPS being on pace to be the worst mark of his career in a season in which he's played at least 60 games.

Addison Barger SS | TOR
Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Belts late long shot
Barger went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Royals.
Barger made Friday's score a little bit more respectable after he smacked a two-run homer to right field off Thomas Hatch in the ninth inning. It was Barger's 16th home run of the season, which is tied with Vladimir Guerrero for second most on the Blue Jays behind George Springer's (concussion) 18. In the 15 games since the All-Star break, Barger has gone 16-for-58 (.276) with four doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI.

Brooks Lee SS | MIN
Twins' Brooks Lee: Takes over shortstop duties
Lee went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss against the Guardians.
Lee had been serving in a utility infield role in recent weeks, but he's poised to serve as the Twins' everyday shortstop moving forward after Carlos Correa was traded to Houston on Thursday. While seeing sporadic playing time for much of July, Lee slashed just .164/.219/.269 with two home runs, 11 RBI, four runs and one stolen base on the month.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Not in Friday's lineup
Jung (calf) is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
With Jung working through calf soreness, Josh Smith will shift to third base while Rowdy Tellez starts at first. Jung is on a nine-game hitting streak since the All-Star break, going 11-for-30 (.367) with six runs, two homers and five RBI over that span.

Nolan Arenado 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Placed on injured list
The Cardinals placed Arenado on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right shoulder strain.
Arenado's shoulder has been bothering him for about a month, which was reflected in his .175/.230/.211 slash line for the month of July. He'll now take at least 10 days to recover from his strain properly; meanwhile, Nolan Gorman (back) will return from the injured list to take Arenado's place at the hot corner.

Ryan Fitzgerald 3B | MIN
Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Recalled from Triple-A
The Twins recalled Fitzgerald from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
Fitzgerald made his MLB debut with Minnesota earlier this season, receiving three plate appearances across two games. He scored one run but is still looking for his first major-league hit. Fitzgerald gives the Twins some infield depth following the trades of Carlos Correa, Willi Castro and Ty France.

Nicky Lopez 3B | ARI
Nicky Lopez: Released by New York
The Yankees released Lopez on Friday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Lopez signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees last month and slashed .263/.338/.333 with two doubles, six RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases across 65 plate appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 30-year-old infielder will try to latch on elsewhere for the remainder of the season.

Nolan Arenado 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Will be placed on IL
The Cardinals are expected to place Arenado on the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's game against the Padres due to a right shoulder injury, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
The veteran third baseman played through the injury for most of July, which may have affected him at the plate as he had a .175/.230/.211 slash line in 17 games during the month. Arenado will be eligible for reinstatement August 10 but is without an official timeline for his return.
