  • Jonah Bride 3B | TEX

Marlins' Jonah Bride: Optioned to minors

Bride was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville by the Marlins on Thursday.

He will yield his roster spot for new acquisition Emmanuel Rivera. Bride had one hit in seven at-bats during his time in the majors this season.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Another two-hit performance

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 victory over the Mariners.

Ramirez kicked off a three-run first inning for the Guardians with an RBI double before coming around to score on an infield single from Will Brennan. The third baseman would strike again in his third at-bat, sending home Steven Kwan with another double as Cleveland jumped out to a commanding 6-0 lead. Ramirez has recorded multiple hits in back-to-back games while also scoring two runs in each of those contests. He's now batting .385 through three games this month.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Early power surge continues

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles.

The 24-year-old infielder swiped his first bag of the year in the fourth inning before drilling his third homer in six games off Mike Baumann in the seventh. Considering he hit four homers and stole 23 bases in 123 games last season, that ratio is likely the inverse of what fantasy GMs who invested in Garcia expected. He's been hitting the ball hard in general even when it doesn't leave the yard -- Garcia has gone 7-for-25 to begin the season with six of the hits going for extra bases, including two doubles and a triple.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jace Peterson: Could be needed at shortstop

Peterson could be needed to fill-in at shortstop if Geraldo Perdomo's knee injury prevents him from playing Friday. Peterson went 0-for-2 after entering Wednesday's extra-innings loss to the Yankees as a pinch hitter and second baseman.

Perdomo was injured while rounding first base and removed from the game in the 10th inning. He'll get some time to heal with a day off Thursday before a weekend series in Atlanta. If the injury lingers, the lefty-hitting Peterson and righty Blaze Alexander are poised to start, likely depending on the handedness of the opposing starter. Right-hander Spencer Strider is scheduled to throw for Atlanta on Friday.

  • Michael Busch 3B | CHC

Cubs' Michael Busch: Tallies three hits Wednesday

Busch went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 9-8 win over the Rockies.

Busch entered the contest with only two hits through 13 at-bats, but he broke out of the slump in a big way, pushing his batting average up to .313. The 26-year-old is atop Chicago's depth chart at first base, though he may cede playing time to Garrett Cooper when southpaws are on the mound for the opponent.

  • Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Exits with apparent injury

Candelario was removed from Wednesday's game against the Phillies due to an injury, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Candelario appeared to wince and point at his right elbow after a swing during the top of eighth inning. He was able to finish the at-bat, resulting in a double, but he was replaced on defense when the Reds took the field in the bottom of the frame. Cincinnati's medical staff will take a closer look at him, and more information about his injury should be available after Wednesday's contest.

  • Jared Triolo 3B | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Returns to lineup

Triolo (foot) will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game versus the Nationals, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Triolo sat out Monday's game as a precaution with a sore foot, but he's ready to roll following Tuesday's off day. The 26-year-old is 5-for-17 with a 3:4 BB:K over his first four contests this season.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Moves up to No. 3 spot

McMahon will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's contest against the Cubs, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

McMahon has been batting fifth, but he's off to an 8-for-20 start and Nolan Jones (2-for-24) is slumping, so the two are flipping lineup spots. Kris Bryant will hit cleanup in between McMahon and Jones.

  • Tyler Freeman 3B | COL

Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Heads to bench Wednesday

Freeman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

He'll give way to Estevan Florial in center field after starting in five of the Guardians' first six games of the season while hitting .211 with a home run and a stolen base.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Receives day off

Bohm is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Whit Merrifield will step in at third base for Bohm, who gets his first day off of the season after starting in each of the Phillies' first five games. Over 20 plate appearances to date, Bohm has hit .263 with four RBI and one run.
