Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Lands on injured list
The Red Sox placed Devers on the 10-day injured list Saturday with left shoulder inflammation, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Devers received an MRI on both of his shoulders Saturday and will officially land on the IL with a left shoulder issue, even though manager Alex Cora said Friday that the third baseman's right shoulder was the main concern. Either way, his move to the injured list will officially put an early end to his season. Romy Gonzalez and Nick Sogard will split reps at third base the rest of the way, and Mickey Gasper will come up from Triple-A Worcester to fill the open spot on the active roster.

Chapman was activated from the paternity list and is part of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Chapman rejoins the Giants for Saturday's contest after a stint on the paternity list. He'll immediately return to the starting nine, playing third base and batting cleanup. A corresponding move has yet to be announced. Chapman is slashing .247/.329/.448 through 617 plate appearances this season.

Cubs' Isaac Paredes: Scratched with bruised wrist
Paredes was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Nationals due to a left wrist contusion, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Paredes was hit in the left hand/wrist during Thursday's contest and also sat down Friday, though this is the first time the Cubs have specified his absence as injury-related. He'll take another day to recover while Luis Vazquez enters the lineup at third base, batting ninth.

Tigers' Jace Jung: Getting breather versus LHP
Jung isn't in Detroit's lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
The lefty-hitting Jung will get a chance to rest Saturday as the Tigers prepare to face the lefty-throwing Cade Povich. Matt Vierling will start at the hot corner in Jung's stead, opening up right field for Wenceel Perez.

Jared Triolo 3B | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Resting Saturday

Trey Lipscomb 3B | WAS
Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Rejoining big-league club
The Nationals recalled Lipscomb from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
With CJ Abrams heading down to the minors for the final week-plus of the season, Lipscomb will return to Washington to bolster the Nats' infield depth. The 24-year-old owns just a .515 OPS through 204 plate appearances in the big leagues this season, and he will almost certainly be limited to a bench role while Nasim Nunez takes over for Abrams at shortstop.
