Muncy was scratched from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's game versus the Angels due to right side soreness, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Muncy's side began bothering him while he was hitting in the cages prior to Wednesday's contest, so the Dodgers decided to sit him down as a precaution. The 34-year-old is being considered day-to-day for now, and he'll benefit from an additional day off Thursday to recover before Los Angeles begins a three-game series against San Diego.

Muncy will be pushed out of the lineup in order to make room for Mookie Betts, who was originally in line for a day off Wednesday. Alex Freeland will start at third base in Muncy's place with Miguel Rojas at second and Betts at shortstop.

Norboy (wrist) participated in batting practice Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Norby is progressing in his recovery from a procedure in July to repair a broken left hamate bone in his hand. He's not expected to be back until late August at the earliest, but his participation in Wednesday's batting session is a good sign for the 25-year-old third baseman. The next step in his recovery program would be to get some live reps, likely on a rehab assignment.

Riley (abdomen) still felt discomfort while throwing Tuesday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Riley is eligible to come off the 10-day IL on Friday, but the expectation is that he's going to need more time to recover from his abdominal strain. Nacho Alvarez has been handling the bulk of the third-base duties for Atlanta while Riley has been sidelined.

Chapman is out of the lineup Wednesday due to right hand soreness, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Chapman missed about a month of action earlier this summer due to a sprained hand, and he's experiencing some renewed soreness in the area. It's unclear if he's available off the bench. Casey Schmitt is starting at third base for San Francisco on Wednesday. The Giants have an off day Thursday ahead of a weekend set with the Rays.

Durbin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Durbin had started in each of the Brewers' previous three games, but he'll get a breather for the series finale as the Pirates send right-hander Mitch Keller to the mound. Anthony Seigler will get the nod at third base Wednesday, but Durbin could be a candidate to replace him at some point during the game, especially if the Pirates send a lefty to the mound.

Chapman is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

It looks like a routine day off for the veteran third baseman, as Casey Schmitt is getting the start at third and batting third. Chapman has slashed just .205/.302/.422 with four home runs, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and a 10:27 K:BB over the last 30 days.

Riley (abdomen) likely won't need a rehab assignment before rejoining Atlanta's lineup, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Manager Brian Snitker wouldn't offer a guess as to when the third baseman might be activated from the IL, but Riley's not expected to be too far behind Ronald Acuna (calf), who should rejoin the lineup before the end of the week. Riley has been sidelined since Aug. 2 after aggravating an abdominal strain that had previously cost him eight games sandwiched around the All-Star break. It's been a disappointing season overall for the 28-year-old, whose .737 OPS would be his lowest mark since he became a full-time player in 2021.

McKinstry is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the White Sox.

McKinstry has gone 0-for-6 with five strikeouts in the first two games of the series and is slashing only .172/.243/.328 in the second half, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Colt Keith is at third base and batting leadoff for the Tigers.

Ramirez 3-for-4 with a double and two solo home runs in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Marlins.

His second long ball of the night was a game-winner, as he took Calvin Faucher deep in the eighth inning to snap a 3-3 tie. It was Ramirez's second multi-homer performance of the season and the 27th of his career, moving him into first place on Cleveland's all-time list ahead of Jim Thome and Albert Belle. Ramirez broke out of a 2-for-25 slump with the effort, but he's been mostly locked in since the All-Star break, slashing .289/.385/.611 over his last 23 contests with seven homers, four steals, 13 RBI and 22 runs.
