Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, three RBI overall and a walk in Friday's 15-8 victory over the Twins.

Donaldson has now gone deep in consecutive games and has hit the 30-homer mark in consecutive seasons. He's also hit safely in five straight and has four RBI in the last two contests.

Plouffe went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, solo homer and a walk in Friday's 15-8 loss to the Blue Jays.

The veteran slugger opened the scoring with a 409-foot solo shot in the first, before adding a third-inning sacrifice fly that brought home Kurt Suzuki. The round-tripper was Plouffe's first since July 1, the game before he went on an extended DL stint with a rib injury.

Machado was the lone bright spot in Friday's 14-4 loss to the Yankees, going 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and three RBI.

He was responsible for the majority of the Orioles' meager production on the night, opening the scoring with a 421-foot solo shot in the first and adding a two-run blast in the sixth. Outside of an 0-for-4 outing against the Nationals on Thursday, Machado has been wielding a hot bat, hitting safely in eight of his last nine, with five homers and 12 RBI over that span.

LeMahieu (wrist) is back in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against Washington, Jenny Cavnar of ROOT Sports reports.

LeMahieu missed the last three games with inflammation in his wrist, but he said Friday that the ailment had begun to clear up. The 28-year-old will be back at his usual second base spot Saturday, and he'll bat second in the order behind leadoff man Charlie Blackmon.

Duffy went 2-for-4 with a double in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the Red Sox, bringing his line to date in a Rays uniform to .357/.386/.381.

The recently acquired shortstop, who'd endured a sluggish campaign before his trade deadline move from the Giants, has found new life at the plate in Tampa. Duffy has now raised his average 18 points since his Aug. 12 debut in a Rays uniform, going 15-for-42 over that span. While there hasn't been much impactful contact-- as evidenced by the fact that his Thursday two-bagger was the first extra-base hit of his Rays tenure-- Duffy is certainly making meaningful contributions in an offense that has often been starved for production this season.

LeMahieu (wrist) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Padres, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports reports.

Daniel Descalso will get the nod at second base with LeMahieu still not ready to go following Thursday's off day. LeMahieu is battling left wrist inflammation, and while there has been no indication that he's in immediate danger of landing on the DL, his status for the rest of the weekend is uncertain. He was red hot before being forced out of action, slashing .461/.554/.684 in August.

LeMahieu (wrist) deemed himself available to pinch hit Friday against the Nationals, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

A bout of wrist inflammation will keep LeMahieu on the bench for a third straight game, but he said Friday that the wrist is feeling better and he should be good to start Saturday. The training staff will, of course, have the final say as far as Saturday goes but it sounds like LeMahieu is fully expected to avoid a DL stint. Daniel Descalso starts at second base Friday.

Donaldson went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Thursday's game against the Angels.

Donaldson's fifth-inning blast was his 29th of the season, and his first since Aug. 13. Despite hitting safely in 16 of 20 games this month, the third baseman has actually seen his batting average drop a bit since the beginning of August. In addition, Donaldson's K:BB ratio in August is his worst month since May. On the bright side, the reigning AL MVP is riding a small four-game hitting streak in which he's amassed five RBI and scored three runs.

Alvarez is out of the lineup Thursday against the Nationals.

Alvarez was held out of Wednesday's contest as well, as the Orioles are without the DH spot playing in an NL ballpark, but he worked his way into the game as a pinch hitter. The 29-year-old will likely be available in a similar capacity again Thursday and should return to the lineup Friday when the team resumes AL play.

Longoria went 1-for-5 with a game-tying solo homer, his 30th, in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.

The slugging third baseman's 436-foot shot in the eighth was crucial to the eventual victory, as it knotted up the score at 3-3. Longoria's renaissance season now includes his first 30-homer tally since 2013, and fourth overall of his career. The 30-year-old also has three round-trippers over his last five games and seven overall in August.
