Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics.

Devers went yard against left-hander Sean Manaea, the third homer he's hit off a southpaw this season. It looks like left-handers are catching up to him. He pummeled them for a .400 average (20-for-50) last year, but that has dropped to .233 here in 2018. Still, it wasn't bad enough for manager Alex Cora to hold him out against Manaea on Monday.

LeMahieu was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left thumb sprain Monday.

LeMahieu's absence from Monday night's lineup against San Diego is now explained. The club has not announced a timetable for LeMahieu's return, but he will be eligible for reinstatement May 25 against the Reds. Expect Daniel Castro to start the majority of games at second base for Colorado in his absence. Pat Valaika was recalled from Triple-A to take LeMahieu's roster spot.

LeMahieu is not in the lineup Monday against the Padres, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.

LeMahieu will head to the bench for what appears to be a routine day off after starting all four games during the team's previous series against the Brewers. Daniel Castro will start at the keystone and hit eighth in his stead.

Asuaje was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Monday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic San Diego reports.

Asuaje was sent down to make room for Franmil Reyes, who was crushing the ball at Triple-A. Asuaje was very much not crushing the ball in the majors, hitting just .198/.263/.292 through 39 games. He was the Padres' Opening Day second baseman and started there for the team's first 15 games but had since fallen out of favor, starting just once in the last 13.

Candelario (wrist) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.

It's something of a surprising move, as the latest news was that Candelario would be able to play through his left wrist tendinitis before undergoing offseason surgery. He's been battling the issue for some time, though, and it's possible the team has decided that it would be best to have the surgery now. Whether the DL stint will be a short one just to rest the wrist or a long one while recovering from surgery is not yet known.

Segura went 2-for-5 with a two-run single and two stolen bases in a loss to the Tigers on Sunday.

Segura knotted the game at 4-4 in the eighth with a clutch hit to center that plated Ryon Healy and Ben Gamel. The hot-hitting shortstop has been knocking the cover off the ball recently, going 9-for-20 with two doubles, three RBI and three runs in three of the last four games, pushing his May average to .306 in the process.

Riley went 4-for-5 with three home runs, three runs, eight RBI and one strikeout in Sunday's game for Triple-A Gwinnett.

He entered the game hitting .250 with zero home runs and seven strikeouts in six games since his promotion to Triple-A, but he now he has a 1.077 OPS thanks to this monster performance. Strikeouts are going to be a part of Riley's game, but he is the youngest active hitter in the International League, so that's not really a red flag at this point. If he can continue to do damage, a summer promotion to the big leagues will likely be in order.

Valencia went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and had three runs and four RBI in the Orioles' 17-1 blowout of Tampa Bay on Sunday.

The 33-year-old raised his average all the way from .224 to .264 with this four-hit performance, and he now has six home runs and 14 RBI on the season. He hadn't been getting enough regular appearances to make a sustained fantasy impact to this point. Still, his .833 OPS over his 72 at-bats is solid, and with Tim Beckham on the disabled list and Pedro Alvarez struggling and also dealing with a recent hamstring injury, Valencia should continue to get penciled into the lineup semi-regularly for the time being.

Machado went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, three runs and two RBI to help the Orioles to a 17-1 romp over Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Machado continued his torrid start to the season with yet another multi-hit effort, and he's now slashing an absurd .350/.431/.669 through 157 at-bats. The young slugger looks like he's headed for a career-best season at the plate -- one that could land him in the MVP conversation sooner rather than later if he continues to produce at anything close to his current rate.

Senzel (vertigo) could return to action for Triple-A Louisville in roughly two weeks, freelance journalist Jason Linden reports.

The exact phrasing was that Senzel is about a week behind Phillip Ervin (undisclosed), who is expected to be back in action next weekend. This would mean Senzel could return around May 25. It is unclear how this latest vertigo scare will impact the Reds' decision to promote their top prospect to the big leagues this season, and it may have no effect on such a decision. Senzel was hitting .271/.351/.459 with three home runs and three steals in 97 plate appearances prior to exiting a May 3 game with dizziness.
