Nick Sogard SS | BOS
Red Sox's Nick Sogard: Recalled, batting seventh
Sogard was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.
Romy Gonzalez (back) landed on the injured list Saturday, creating an opening at first base for the Red Sox. Sogard appears set to get some chances against lefties, as he's in the lineup and hitting seventh versus Royals southpaw Cole Ragans on Saturday. Sogard earned 86 plate appearances with the Red Sox in 2024 and hit .273/.326/.325 with eight RBI and 13 runs scored.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Getting rest Saturday
Bohm isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Cleveland.
Bohm will get a breather Saturday after recording hits in each of his last six games, going 8-for-22 with three RBI and four runs scored in the process. Edmundo Sosa will fill in at the hot corner and bat ninth.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Homers in win
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-0 win over the Phillies.
Ramirez finished off the scoring with his homer in the seventh inning. It was his first long ball in 15 games and sixth of the season. It didn't take long for Ramirez to shake off the ankle injury that forced him to miss one game. In the five games since, he's 6-for-20 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI.

Santiago Espinal 3B | CIN
Reds' Santiago Espinal: Steals bag in loss
Espinal started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-0 loss to Houston.
The stolen base was the first of the season for Espinal, who logged 11 thefts in a part-time role for the Reds in 2024. He's been more of a regular in 2025, appearing in 31 of Cincinnati's 40 games to date. Friday's start was his fifth in a row at third base since Noelvi Marte (oblique) became unavailable. It was Espinal's 10th overall start, including outings at shortstop, left field and right field. With Austin Hays activated off the injured list Friday, that frees up Gavin Lux to usurp starts at the third base, but Espinal has been a valuable and productive piece and should maintain a semi-regular role.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA
Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Homers in Friday's loss
Suarez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, two walks and three total runs scored in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Dodgers.
The first-inning homer was Suarez's first since his historic four-homer game versus Atlanta on April 26. The third baseman has a trio of multi-hit efforts in May, going 8-for-33 (.242) with six RBI over nine games this month. On the season, he's batting .210 with an .808 OPS, 11 homers, 26 RBI, 24 runs scored, six doubles and one stolen base. Suarez rarely hits for a good average anymore, but he can tap into power when he gets in a groove.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Stays hot
McMahon went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored Friday against the Padres.
McMahon still has an abysmal overall line for the season, but he has improved across his last eight games. He's gone 11-for-27 with three homers, six RBI and eight runs scored in that span, while striking out only 18.8 percent of the time.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Surging to begin May
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Twins.
Chapman smashed his third homer already in the month of May. Over his last 29 at-bats, the veteran third baseman is batting a strong .310 with three big flies, eight RBI, eight runs scored and one stolen base. Chapman has now reached base safely in eight consecutive outings, and his 29 walks on the campaign rank third in the major leagues.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Rehab assignment delayed
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Friday that Westburg (hamstring) won't play a rehab game with Triple-A Norfolk until late next week, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Westburg landed on the 10-day injured list April 28 due to a left hamstring strain. The injury is more severe than originally thought, and the 26-year-old third baseman will stick to baseball activities before embarking on a rehab assignment in Triple-A. Prior to his placement on the IL, Westburg was slashing .217/.265/.391 with 12 runs scored, four home runs and six RBI in 98 plate appearances.

Matthew Lugo SS | LAA
Angels' Matthew Lugo: Heading to majors
The Angels recalled Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
Lugo wasn't able to make the Angels' Opening Day roster, but he's now on the 26-man roster following Gustavo Campero's placement on the 10-day injured list due to left ankle inflammation. Lugo was acquired by the Angels from the Red Sox in July, and in Triple-A this season he is slashing .212/.292/.364 with two stolen bases, 22 runs scored, four home runs and 18 RBI in 168 plate appearances. With Campero and Mike Trout (knee) both on the IL, Lugo should have an opportunity to see some playing time in the outfield as a defensive substitute for Kyren Paris, Taylor Ward and Jo Adell.

Coby Mayo 3B | BAL
Orioles' Coby Mayo: Sent back to minors
The Orioles optioned Mayo to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
Mayo had some defensive lapses and went just 1-for-12 at the plate during his brief stint with the big club. The 23-year-old has nothing left to prove in the minors, but he will nonetheless head back to Norfolk to clear space on the roster for the return of Tyler O'Neill (neck).
