LeMahieu went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Thursday's victory over the Angels.

LeMahieu kicked off the scoring for the Yankees with a three-run shot to right field in the second inning. The blast was his 25th of the season -- 10 more than the career high he set last year while playing half his games in the high altitude of Colorado. LeMahieu has exceeded all expectations in his first year as a Yankee, complementing the power numbers with a .329/.377/.518 slash line, 97 RBI and 106 runs scored.

Riley went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Phillies.

Riley took Aaron Nola deep in the sixth to record his 18th home run of the season. It was his first long ball since he returned from the injured list Sept. 6 and only his fourth hit in 19 at-bats. To make matters worse, Thursday's start marked just his second in the team's last seven games.

Ramirez (hand) is ramping up activity in an effort to return before the end of the regular season, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

He took batting practice from both sides of the plate Thursday and has been taking infield practice this week. The original timeline was an early-October return, but it sounds like Ramirez is doing everything in his power to beat that estimate.

Astudillo is not in Thursday's lineup against the Royals.

Astudillo is hitting .243 with zero home runs, two walks, two strikeouts and two hit-by-pitches in 13 games this month. Marwin Gonzalez will start at first base and hit sixth.

Segura, who left Thursday's game in the sixth inning, suffered a left hamstring cramp and will be sent for more tests, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Thiis could end up just being a minor cramp with Segura being day-to-day, but additional tests could also reveal something serious enough to end his season. He suffered the injury running to first base on an RBI single. Scott Kingery would be the most logical fill-in shortstop.

Candelario (triceps) is starting at first base and hitting fifth Thursday against the Indians.

He appeared off the bench as a defensive replacement Wednesday but did not get an at-bat. Candelario is 7-for-37 (.189) with zero home runs in 12 games this month.

Segura left Thursday's game against the Braves in the top of the sixth inning after suffering an apparent left hamstring injury while running to first base after hitting an RBI single, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

He walked off gingerly and it remains to be seen if he will be able to return this season. Segura went 1-for-3 before exiting. Scott Kingery could get the starts at shortstop if Segura misses further time.

Machado is not in Thursday's lineup against the Brewers.

There's no getting around the fact that this has been an underwhelming first full year in the National League for Machado. He is hitting .140 in September and .253/.332/.456 with 30 home runs and five steals in 148 games. His 106 wRC+ is his second-worst mark over the past six years, trailing only the 101 wRC+ he posted in 2017. Seth Mejias-Brean is starting at third base and hitting sixth.

Donaldson is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies.

He is hitting .245/.379/.491 with four home runs and a 15:12 K:BB in 53 at-bats this month. Donaldson has been a steady presence this season, as he has not started a game on the bench since May and has played in 149 games thus far. Austin Riley will start at third base and hit sixth.

Moncada went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Twins.

Moncada continues to mash during September. The two-hit night extends his hitting streak to seven games (16-for-33) with multiple hits in six of those contests. Going back further, the young third baseman has reached base safely in 16 straight (30-for-65, .507 OBP). Moncada is putting a bow on what has been a promising season, due in part to a more aggressive plate approach.
