Machado went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI singles, a run scored and a walk in Friday's 4-3 win over the Astros.

Machado tied the game in the first inning when he scored Eric Hosmer with a single. He then scored Trent Grisham with a single in the fifth before coming home on a Jake Cronenworth double. Machado has four straight multi-hit efforts, going 8-for-15 with a homer, six RBI and five runs scored in that span. He's slashing .248/.358/.486 with six homers, 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and two stolen bases in 28 games this season.

LeMahieu (thumb) played catch Friday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

LeMahieu has been out for nearly a week of what's expected to be a two-week or three-week absence with a sprained left thumb. The Yankees have since also lost Gleyber Torres (hamstring/quadriceps), leaving Tyler Wade and Thairo Estrada as their primary options in the middle infield.

Moncada's day off Friday is due to leg soreness, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

It sounds like nothing worse than normal wear and tear for the young third baseman, who will be available off the bench. He's expected to return to the lineup Saturday. Ryan Goins starts against the Cubs at Wrigley Field in his absence.

Moncada is not starting Friday against the Cubs.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's win over Arizona.

Chapman took Alex Young deep in the first inning with a solo shot, and then he added a two-run blast off reliever Yoan Lopez in the eighth. Chapman ended a spell of eight games without a long ball and he now has eight on the season, to go along with 20 RBI and an .867 OPS in 26 games.

Rendon went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Thursday's loss against the Giants.

Rendon was dealing with a sore wrist Thursday afternoon and admitted he "didn't feel great", but that didn't seem to affect him as he notched his fourth straight multi-hit game. Rendon is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak in which he's batting .486 with a 1.531 OPS.

Devers went 2-for-5 in Thursday's 7-1 over Baltimore.

It was the fourth consecutive game in which Devers hit safely and the fourth time in the last six he's posted multiple knocks. During that six-game run, the third baseman is 11-for-27 (.407) with three doubles, one home run and four RBI. Prior to that, he'd batted just .174 through 18 games.

Escobar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-1 loss to Oakland.

Escobar supplied all the offense the Diamondbacks could muster against left-hander Sean Manaea, and Arizona is now 0-6 against southpaws. This was the second multi-hit game in the last five for Escobar, who is 6-for-18 with two home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs scored during that stretch. It's a positive sign for the hitter, whose average stood at .167 over the first third of the season.

Newman went 2-for-3 with a walk in Thursday's 2-0 loss to Cleveland.

Getting the start at second base and hitting second, Newman was a regular presence on the basepaths, but none of his teammates could bring him home. The 27-year-old has upped his batting average on the year to .292 with a nine-game hitting streak that's seen him go 15-for-36 (.417).

Toro went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Thursday against the Rockies.

Toro took German Marquez deep in the fifth inning to record his second home run of the season. He's in line for a major uptick in at-bats, with both Alex Bregman (hamstring) and Aledmys Diaz (groin) currently on the injured list. Toro has been fairly unimpressive to this point, as he's managed just a .171/.261/.341 line across 46 plate appearances, though he should have the chance to get in a groove with more regular at-bats.
