Walls went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a stolen base and a walk in Wednesday's extra-innings loss to Washington.

The shortstop enjoyed a memorable moment in the seventh inning, going deep to right field for his first major-league homer. Walls also contributed a stolen base following a fourth-inning walk. Speed is more of his game -- Walls has stolen as many as 31 bases in a single minor-league season but has topped out at 10 homers -- so fantasy managers looking to roster him should frame their expectations accordingly.

Madrigal left Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays with right hamstring tightness, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

The second baseman went 1-for-3 with an RBI double before being replaced by Danny Mendick in the eighth inning. Madrigal will be evaluated Thursday, at which point the length any potential absence might be determined.

Bregman went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a pair of doubles and a walk in Wednesday's 8-3 win over Boston.

The third baseman showed off some power with three extra-base hits Wednesday. His long ball was just his third in 33 games since the start of May. Bregman has still put together a solid stat line with seven homers, 31 RBI, 34 runs scored and a .295/.384/.464 slash line through 237 plate appearances. He's picked up six hits, including a homer and four doubles, in his last three contests, so he appears to have shaken off a recent slump.

Machado went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

Machado notched his 37th RBI of the season following an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning that scored Tommy Pham, but he would remain silent the rest of the way. The star third baseman has hit safely in nine of the Padres' last 12 games, though, and he has racked up two homers, nine RBI and a .846 OPS during that stretch.

Vosler went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.

He got the scoring going in the fifth inning when he pulled a Kyle Gibson cutter off the right-field foul pole. Vosler, who was later pinch-hit for by Mauricio Dubon, has provided some nice pop in his limited opportunities this season, as he now has three homers in 32 at-bats.

Muncy, who is being held out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates while he manages a sore right ankle, is expected to be limited to playing first base if he rejoins the starting nine for Thursday's series finale, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Muncy returned from a two-game absence due to the ankle injury in Tuesday's 5-3 win, going 2-for-5 with an RBI. He'll sit Wednesday as part of a pre-planned maintenance program, but the ankle injury still looks to be affecting Muncy in the field, even though he didn't aggravate the issue Tuesday. According to Juan Toribio of MLB.com, manager Dave Roberts noted that Muncy won't be a candidate to go on the injured list, but the 30-year-old will work solely as a first baseman in the short term since the sore ankle is limiting his mobility too much for him to capably handle the keystone.

Sosa went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in a loss to Cleveland on Tuesday.

Sosa's fourth-inning single that plated Tyler O'Neill represented the biggest offensive success for the Cardinals on a forgettable night. The 25-year-old has reached safely in six of the last seven games and owns a .271/.374/.365 slash line through 99 plate appearances, the type of numbers that could continue to help earn him semi-regular playing time even when Paul DeJong (ribs) returns to action.

Muncy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Muncy battled a sprained ankle over the weekend, but he returned to the lineup for Tuesday's 5-3 win and went 2-for-5 with an RBI. While Muncy didn't experience a setback during the contest, manager Dave Roberts noted that he planned to give the veteran a maintenance day Wednesday. Muncy will presumably check back into the starting nine for Thursday's series finale.

After being limited to one pinch-hit opportunity over the weekend due to a sprained right ankle, Muncy was inserted back into the lineup Tuesday and made his mark with a pair of singles, including a fifth-inning base knock that plated Mookie Betts. There is no indication that Muncy aggravated the injury in the win, so the decision to keep him out of action Wednesday is likely precautionary as the veteran isn't yet entirely free of pain in the ankle.

Riley went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI double during Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Phillies.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring Tuesday with an RBI double during the first inning, and he also knotted the game at 5-5 with a solo shot in the eighth. Riley has a .352/.419/.703 slash line with eight home runs, eight doubles, 20 RBI and 16 runs in his past 25 games.
