  • Edmundo Sosa LF | PHI

    Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Sitting Tuesday

Sosa is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The shortstop will receive the day off after appearing in the last four games for the Cardinals. Paul DeJong gets the start at shortstop and is batting seventh.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Not starting Tuesday

Urias (upper leg) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Kansas City.

Urias left Sunday's game against the Yankees due to upper leg soreness, and the issue will force him out of the lineup for a second straight contest. Kelvin Gutierrez will start at the hot corner and bat ninth.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Sent back to minors

Walls was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Walls had been back with the big-league squad since the start of September but went just 2-for-15 at the plate in five games, dropping his season slash line to .203/.301/.305 across 147 plate appearances. He'll head to the minors as the Rays recall reliever Louis Head.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Notches two hits

Toro went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBI in Monday's 11-2 loss to the Astros.

Toro doubled home the only two runs of the game for the Mariners after sending a ball to deep left field off Lance McCullers in the third inning. The 24-year-old has four multi-hit efforts over his last six games and has nine RBI over that span. Since coming over from Houston, Toro is slashing .314/.394/.457 with four homers, 21 RBI, 17 runs scored, two steals and 15:18 BB:K over 37 games.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Goes deep Monday

McMahon went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in the loss to the Giants on Monday.

The 27-year-old opened up the scoring for his team in this one with a solo blast off of Kevin Gausman in the second inning. After posting a 10-game hitting streak in early August, McMahon has struggled to a .192 batting average with five total extra-base hits in 73 at-bats over 21 games. On the season, he has still posted a career-high .255 batting average while hitting 21 home runs.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Hammers grand slam

Segura went 3-for-5 with a grand slam, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's 12-0 victory over Milwaukee.

Segura scored a run in the first inning on Bryce Harper's two-run homer. He later crushed a grand slam as part of a seven-run eighth inning. The veteran infielder has produced multiple hits in six of his last 11 games, raising his season slash line to .295/.358/.441 with 11 long balls and 49 RBI.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Collects three hits

Hayes went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 6-3 win over the Tigers.

Hayes ripped three singles in the victory, including a two-run base knock in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old entered Monday's game in a 12-for-58 (.207) skid in 16 games since his last multi-hit performance on Aug 14. He improved his season slash line to .252/.321/.376 with 30 RBI through 321 plate appearances.

  • Edmundo Sosa LF | PHI

Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Productive in loss

Sosa went 1-for-3 with an RBI sacrifice fly, a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.

Sosa continues to validate manager Mike Shildt's decision to afford him the bulk of playing time at shortstop, with Sunday's production pushing his slash line over the last nine games to an outstanding .387/.432/.742 (37 plate appearances). Sosa has impressively provided a bit of everything in that sample, lacing a double, two triples, two home runs, 10 RBI, three walks and nine runs in addition to Sunday's steal, his fourth of the campaign.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Not starting Monday

Arenado isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Arenado will get a breather after he went 5-for-15 with three homers, four runs, four RBI and three strikeouts across the last four games. Matt Carpenter will start at the hot corner and bat fifth.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Out Monday with injury

Urias (upper leg) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Baltimore won't be calling up another infielder in a corresponding move, so the Orioles will be left with a thin bench in Monday's series opener while Urias tends to the upper-leg injury. With Urias unavailable, look for Jorge Mateo to pick up the start at shortstop, while Kelvin Gutierrez mans third base.
