Rivera will start at third base and bat sixth in Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Rivera will pick up his third straight start and is being included in the lineup for the seventh time in nine contests. With outfielder Michael Taylor (illness) heading to the COVID-19 injured list Thursday and with catcher Salvador Perez (thumb) having landed on the 10-day IL earlier this week, Rivera should maintain at least a part-time role for the Royals in the short term, especially if he continues to hold his own at the plate. In a small sample of 38 plate appearances this season, he's gotten on base at a .316 clip while providing five extra-base hits.

Segura isn't starting Thursday against the Padres since he's experiencing cold symptoms, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Segura is out of the lineup after drawing four consecutive starts, but it's possible he'll be available to pinch hit during Thursday's series finale. Assuming he tests negative for COVID-19, the 32-year-old should be considered day-to-day.

Sosa (ankle) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Sosa had started in four of the Cardinals' last five games, but his absence from the lineup comes as little surprise after he exited Wednesday's 11-4 loss with an ankle issue. Despite getting a solid dose of playing time lately, Sosa still looks to be behind Tommy Edman and Brendan Donovan in the pecking order in the middle infield when St. Louis is at full strength. Sosa was awarded the start at shortstop Wednesday because Edman was managing a sore calf, but Edman is back in the lineup Thursday.

Segura is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Padres, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Segura will take a seat after starting the last four games, going 4-for-17 with a homer, three RBI, two runs and two stolen bases. Johan Camargo will start at second base and bat seventh in the contest.

Donaldson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

With Giancarlo Stanton handling designated-hitter duties and DJ LeMahieu manning third base, Donaldson will take a seat for the first time since May 8. While starting in each of the Yankees' last 10 games, Donaldson slashed an impressive .342/.419/.632 with three home runs, four walks, two doubles, seven RBI and six runs.

Reynolds is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Reynolds had been in line to sit out Wednesday's game in Cleveland before the contest was ultimately rained out. He'll now get a proper day off for the series finale Thursday, with outfielder Albert Almora effectively replacing him in the starting nine.

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Mets.

The veteran third baseman brought St. Louis to within two runs with his shot to left field in the eighth inning, but New York poured on five runs in the bottom of the frame to put the game out of reach. Arenado has followed a nine-game homerless stretch with a pair of long balls in his past four games and is up to a team-high nine homers on the season. He continues to hit well in his 10th big-league campaign, slashing .306/.365/.597 across 148 plate appearances.

Hayes went 1-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored Wednesday against the Cubs.

Hayes narrowly missed a home run in the third inning but instead settled for his 10th double of the campaign. He proceeded to immediately steal third base -- his fourth of the season -- and also came around to score. Despite the strong performance, Hayes has only four hits across his last 28 at-bats while producing just two RBI and one run scored in that span.

Paredes went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Wednesday against the Tigers.

Paredes was in the lineup for the first time since being recalled to the majors Monday, starting at third base and hitting sixth. He took advantage of the opportunity, slugging homers in the third and eighth frames. Paredes figures to serve a utility role so long as Brandon Lowe (back) is sidelined, and he has collected seven hits across 25 plate appearances this season.

Sosa was diagnosed with a strained left ankle after leaving Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Sosa went 1-for-2 and suffered the injury when he was caught attempting to steal second base during the fifth inning. It's interesting the injury was announced as a strain rather than a sprain, and he's been labeled day-to-day.
