Arenado said after Sunday's 7-0 win over the Guardians that his removal from the contest was due to a jammed right index finger, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Arenado went 2-for-3 with a double before he was lifted for a pinch hitter as a precautionary measure in the top of the eighth inning. The Cardinals were up 5-0 at the time of Arenado's departure, which adds credence to the idea that the third baseman's removal was precautionary. Even so, fantasy managers will want to keep close tabs on Arenado's status heading into Monday's series opener in Pittsburgh.

Berti will start at third base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Astros.

Berti will enter the lineup for just the second time since rookie Matt Shaw was recalled from Triple-A Iowa in mid-May. Shaw has posted a .655 OPS since his call-up, which has been good enough to keep Berti on the bench.

Jon Berti will receive the nod at third base while Shaw sits after seven straight starts. During that stretch, the rookie went 6-for-25 with four RBI, three runs and three steals. He's swiped 10 bags in 11 attempts on the season, but his fantasy contributions have been fairly muted beyond that, as he's hitting just .222 with two home runs, 25 runs and 13 RBI over 200 plate appearances.

Schmitt (wrist) was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The 26-year-old was also scratched from the lineup Saturday as he continues to manage a wrist injury. According to Rubin, manager Bob Melvin said Schmitt is likely to undergo an MRI once the Giants travel to Arizona on Monday, and it remains unclear if a trip to the injured list will be necessary.

Westburg (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The 26-year-old aggravated the injury to his left index finger Friday after missing a few games earlier in the week, and he'll sit Sunday for a second consecutive contest. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, interim manager Tony Mansolino said Westburg will play catch and swing a bat prior to Sunday's contest, and the expectation is that the infielder will be back in the lineup within the next couple of days. Ramon Urias will receive another start at the hot corner for Baltimore on Sunday.

Caminero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Curtis Mead will cover third base while Caminero receives a breather for the first time since June 20. While starting each of the Rays' last seven games, the 21-year-old went 7-for-30 with three solo home runs, a double, a walk and three additional runs.

Paredes went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a hit-by-pitch in Saturday's loss to the Cubs.

Paredes' homer was a 328-foot poke to left field that didn't make much of an impact on the final outcome, but it counts all the same for fantasy managers. The long ball ended a six-game stretch without an RBI for the infielder, who went just 4-for-19 with no extra-base hits during that span. Despite that mini slump, Paredes is up to a healthy 17 homers and 46 RBI on the season, and he leads Houston in both categories.

Newman went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Nationals.

Newman gave the Angels some separation with his long ball in the seventh inning. The reserve infielder has gotten a look at shortstop lately, though that is likely to be a short-term opportunity while Zach Neto (shoulder) is on the mend. The homer was Newman's first of the season to go with eight RBI, nine runs scored, one stolen base, two doubles and a .202/.212/.262 slash line across 86 plate appearances.

Lewis (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as Tuesday, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.

Lewis began a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on Friday and served as a designated hitter on consecutive days, going 0-for-5 with a walk between those contests. He will likely need to play third base in a game before being activated. If Lewis doesn't get reinstated Tuesday ahead of the Twins' three-game series in Miami, he'll most likely stay with St. Paul through Thursday before potentially rejoining the parent club for its home series with the Rays that begins Friday. Lewis strained his left hamstring June 13 after missing five weeks to begin the season with the same injury to his left leg. Given his long history of soft-tissue injuries, Lewis could see a larger share of his playing time as a DH once the Twins activate him.

Hayes went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Mets.

Hayes gave the Pirates a one-run lead in the second inning on an RBI single, and he extended the lead to two runs in the eighth when his single brought Nick Gonzales home. It was Hayes' 16th multi-hit game of the season, and the 28-year-old third baseman has recorded at least one hit in each of his last seven games, going 10-for-24 (.417) with five runs scored and six RBI over that span.
