  • CJ Alexander 3B | HOU

Dodgers' CJ Alexander: Claimed by Dodgers

The Dodgers claimed Alexander from the Yankees on Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Alexander joins his third organization of 2025 after starting the season with the Athletics and being designated for assignment by the Yankees on Monday. He has appeared in 54 games at the Triple-A level in 2025, slashing .239/.339/.443, and has played in six games in the majors. The third baseman joins the Dodgers after Max Muncy went down with a knee injury in Wednesday night's game. With the Dodgers claiming Alexander, they designated Steward Berroa for assignment Thursday.

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Undergoing MRI on knee Thursday

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Wednesday's game versus the White Sox that Muncy will undergo an MRI on his left knee Thursday, DodgersBeat.com reports.

Muncy was injured when Michael Taylor's head collided with the third baseman's knee on a stolen-base attempt in the sixth inning. Roberts said after Muncy was evaluated by trainers that the team is "optimistic" the 34-year-old is dealing with a sprain rather than a tear, but the MRI will provide more clarity. At the very least, Roberts expects Muncy to be sidelined "for the next few days." Enrique Hernandez and Miguel Rojas will handle third base while Muncy is shelved.

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Exits with injury

Muncy was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent left knee injury, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

A stealing Michael Taylor collided with Muncy's left knee while sliding into third base, causing the latter's leg to bend awkwardly. Muncy needed to be helped off the field by a trainer after the play and will almost certainly be taken in for imaging. If the two-time All-Star ends up needing to miss any amount of time, Enrique Hernandez would likely fill in at the hot corner for the Dodgers.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Taking seat Wednesday

House isn't in the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Detroit, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

House will grab a seat in the dugout for Wednesday's nightcap after going 1-for-4 with two strikeouts during an 11-2 loss in Game 1. Paul DeJong will pick up a start at the hot corner as a result and bat sixth.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Not playing Game 2

Vientos is not in the Mets' starting lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.

Vientos will take a seat after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the first game of the twin bill. Francisco Lindor will serve as the designated hitter while Ronny Mauricio starts at shortstop in the nightcap.

  • Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS

Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Idle for nightcap

Durbin is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Durbin didn't start in the Brewers' 7-2 win earlier the day either, though he drew a walk during his pinch-hit appearance. Anthony Seigler will make another start at the hot corner and bat seventh in the nightcap.

  • Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS

Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Sitting out first game of twin bill

Durbin is absent from the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Mets.

Durbin will get some rest for the first game of the twin bill but should return to the lineup for the nightcap. Anthony Seigler will start at third base and bat ninth in his major-league debut in the early game.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Receiving rare game off

Bohm is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Padres.

Bohm will exit the lineup for the first time since May 10, ending a stretch of 46 consecutive starts for the veteran infielder. Edmundo Sosa will fill in at third base in the early contest in place of Bohm, who will presumably return to the starting nine for the nightcap.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Sitting out first game of day

Mauricio is not in the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.

He'll likely be back in the lineup for the second game of the twin bill, but Mauricio will begin the matinee on the bench. The Mets will roll with Brett Baty at second base.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Remaining on bench Wednesday

Arenado (finger) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

After spraining his right index finger in Sunday's win over the Guardians, Arenado went 0-for-3 as the Cardinals' designated hitter in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Pirates. The injury was still bothering him enough coming out of that game for the Cardinals to hold him out for Tuesday's 1-0 loss, and the veteran third baseman will get another day off to heal Wednesday. Thomas Saggese will cover the hot corner in place of Arenado, who will benefit from a team off day Thursday before potentially returning to the lineup for this weekend's series versus the Cubs.
