  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Sitting again Sunday

Senzel is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Senzel had a double in Saturday's game, his first hit since coming off the injured list Monday (1-for-10). It's probably best to view Brian Goodwin as the Reds' primary center fielder, at least until Senzel is closer to full speed following his month-long absence.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Tacks on two more hits

Hayes went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI during the Cardinals' 5-4 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Hayes has reached base in 15 of 17 contests since being called up while slashing a strong .310/.385/.603. The 23-year-old should remain a fixture toward the top of the Pirates' lineup as the regular season winds down.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: On bench against lefty

McMahon is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

McMahon has sat frequently against southpaws recently, and he'll do so again here against one of the best in the league in Clayton Kershaw. Garrett Hampson will star at second base Saturday.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Back in action

Segura (triceps) is back in the lineup as expected Saturday against Toronto, batting third and playing third base.

Segura was struck by a pitch in the triceps Thursday against the Mets and didn't appear in Friday's contest, though the injury was never expected to keep him out too long. He's gone 6-for-6 in his last two games and will look to stay hot in this one.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: Struggles persist Friday

Newman went 0-for-4 with a pair of walks in Friday's doubleheader loss to the Cardinals.

He also made his seventh error of the season. Newman is batting .156 (5-for-32) since Sept. 9 with no extra-base hits. Prior to the season, he mentioned stealing bases as an area of expansion to his game, but he was unsuccessful in his lone attempt, and that was nearly two months ago. He dealt with an undisclosed injury during summer camp thought to be oblique related. For whatever reasons, his sophomore season has proven to be a disappointment: Newman is slashing .229/.281/.281 with one homer and 10 RBI in 168 plate appearances.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Hits homer in blowout

Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an RBI, three runs scored and a walk during a 15-2 win over the Mets on Friday.

Riley got involved in the high-scoring affair with a solo home run to lead off the third inning. It was his first long ball in two weeks as the young third baseman upped his slash line to .243/.299/.426 with eight home runs, 24 RBI and 24 runs scored in 184 plate appearances this season.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Stellar performance in nightcap

Anderson went 3-for-4 with three home runs and seven RBI during Friday's win in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Nationals.

Anderson turned things around in a major way after going hitless in three at-bats during Friday's matinee. The third baseman had home runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings to power the Marlins to a blowout win. He now carries a .857 OPS with nine home runs and 34 RBI this year.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Cranks two homers

Machado went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, four RBI, a walk and a stolen base during Friday's win over the Mariners.

Machado launched a two-out, three-run long ball against Yusei Kiuchi in the fourth inning, then tacked on a solo shot against Walker Lockett in the ninth. He also walked and swiped second base in the third inning. The 28-year-old has five homers against the Mariners this season alone and 16 overall. He has now hit safely across nine consecutive games, raising his batting line to .318/.382/.621.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Expected to return Saturday

Segura (triceps) is expected to return to the lineup Saturday, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Segura sat out both games of Friday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays after being hit by a pitch Thursday. However, he's expected to return to action as the series against Toronto continues Saturday.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: On bench Friday

Escobar is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros.

Escobar has been quite disappointing at the plate this season, hitting .194/.263/.320. He's gone hitless in his last three games. Josh VanMeter will be the third baseman Friday.
