Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Two hits, homer
Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and RBI and two strikeouts in a 6-2 triumph over Arizona on Saturday.
Machado took Arizona starter Taylor Widener deep to left for his 21st home run of the season in the first inning and singled and scored in the eighth to put San Diego in the lead for good. It was a nice rebound performance for the All-Star third baseman, who went hitless on Friday, and he's now recorded multiple hits in four of his last 11 games.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Exits after pitch hits face
Segura exited Saturday's game against the Mets after getting hit in the face by a pitch, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Segura initially stayed in the game to run the bases, as the changeup from Yennsy Diaz grazed his face and didn't appear to do significant damage. He didn't take his place in the field to start the next inning, but was instead replaced by Luke Williams as part of a double switch. Whether or not he'll miss an extended period is not yet clear.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Not starting Saturday
Newman isn't starting Saturday's game against the Reds.
Newman had started each of the last five games, and he went 5-for-19 with two doubles, two runs, two RBI, a stolen base and two walks. Hoy Park will start at shortstop and lead off.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Not in Saturday's lineup
McMahon isn't starting Saturday's game against the Marlins.
McMahon has recorded hits in each of the last four games, and he went 5-for-14 with a home run, two doubles, four runs, three RBI and four runs during that time. Garrett Hampson will take his place at the hot corner and lead off.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Phillies' Nick Maton: Rejoins major-league club
Maton was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
Maton appeared in 11 games during his recent minor-league stint and posted a .468 on-base percentage with a triple, three doubles, eight runs and four RBI. He'll fill a depth role for the Phillies after right-hander Chase Anderson (triceps) was placed on the 10-day IL.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Three doubles in return
Moustakas went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's 10-0 win over the Pirates.
There was no rust whatsoever on the 32-year-old's bat as he saw his first action since May 18. Moustakas' return from a heel injury will give the Reds' offense a jolt for the stretch run, but with Jonathan India having locked down the job at second base while he was sidelined, Moose will have to split time at third base with Eugenio Suarez.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Stuck on short side of platoon
Suarez will occupy the short side of a platoon with Mike Moustakas at third base for now, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
The Reds' default lineup early in the season featured Moustakas at third base and Suarez at shortstop, but Suarez fared poorly enough at that position that the team evidently no longer views him as a viable option there now that Moustakas is back from an extended absence due to a heel contusion. Considering that Suarez has slumped to a 70 wRC+ this season and had a barely above-average 104 wRC+ last year, it's no surprise that the Reds don't feel the need to keep him in an everyday role. He bats right-handed while Moustakas hits left-handed, so a platoon looks like a natural setup that the Reds could stick to down the stretch.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Not in Friday's lineup
Anderson is out of the lineup Friday against the Rockies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Anderson started the past three games and will take a seat while mired in a 2-for-15 slump. Isan Diaz will start at the hot corner Friday in his place.
-
J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Out of Friday's lineup
Davis is not in the lineup Friday against the Phillies, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
Davis started three of the past four games and will take a seat Friday. Jonathan Villar will work at the hot corner in his absence.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Pushed to bench
Suarez is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates.
Mike Moustakas (heel) returns from a lengthy absence and will start at third base in Suarez's place. Early in the season, the Reds regularly started Suarez at shortstop and Moustakas at third, but Suarez looked overmatched at the position and hasn't started there since May 29. Whether or not that alignment will be an option now that Moustakas is back is not yet clear. If it's not, Suarez could see his playing time substantially reduced. That's arguably something that should be happening already given that he owns a .177/.260/.379 slash line on the season, though he does have a much better .800 OPS over his last 15 games.
