Arenado went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over Boston.

Arenado set the tone early with a two-run shot in the first inning. He later came around to score the game-tying run in the sixth. Arenado's four hits set a new personal season high and could be a sign he's snapping out of his cold streak. Over his previous 23 games, the star slugger was slashing .156/.200/.233.

Escobar is starting at third base and batting eighth for the Mets on Friday against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Brett Baty has started three of the last four against lefties, but Escobar is subbing in for him versus MacKenzie Gore. Escobar has a .646 OPS against southpaws this season, which is actually much better than his .459 OPS against righties.

Baty is absent from the Mets' lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Left-hander MacKenzie Gore actually has drastic reverse splits this season, with lefties producing a 1.258 OPS against him and righties a .584 OPS. He did fare better versus left-handed hitters in 2022, though, and the left-handed batting Baty will be on the bench in favor of Eduardo Escobar for this one.

Castro is not in the lineup Friday versus the Orioles, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Castro hasn't started a game for the Pirates since Monday's series opener against the Rockies and seems to have fallen into more of a utility role after a multi-week run as the team's primary shortstop. Tucupita Marcano is playing short and batting seventh Friday in Baltimore.

Candelario (ankle) is starting Friday's game against the Mets.

Candelario was removed from Wednesday's game against the Giants after tweaking his ankle on a slide, but he'll start at the hot corner and bat sixth following the Nationals' day off Thursday. Over his last three appearances, he's gone 1-for-12 with a double, a run and a strikeout.

Busch was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Dodgers on Thursday.

Busch didn't play a ton during his first stint in the big leagues, getting five starts over a two-and-a-half week period. He's clearing out to make room for J.D. Martinez's return from the injured list.

Double-A Hartford placed Carreras on the 7-day injured list April 25 with an unspecified injury.

He hadn't played since April 22 before landing on the IL. Carreras hit .271 with a .364 on-base percentage, two home runs and three steals in 56 plate appearances prior to suffering the injury. The Rockies added the 23-year-old shortstop to the 40-man roster back in November to protect him from being selected during the Rule 5 draft.

Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-4 win over the Cardinals.

Wisdom popped his second home run of the month and 12th of the season in the third inning. The 31-year-old came into the game mired in a 7-for-40 slump, so when he's not hitting long balls, he can be tough to stomach in fantasy leagues. Wisdom is now batting .237 with a .941 OPS and should continue to be a boom-or-bust option moving forward.

Candelario will have his right ankle injury re-evaluated Friday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Candelario tweaked the ankle on a slide during Wednesday's game with the Giants and had to be removed. He had the ankle taped up postgame and will hope the Nationals' off day Thursday will allow enough time to heal.

Candelario was removed from Wednesday's game versus the Giants with an apparent right leg injury, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Candelario seemed to hurt his leg on an awkward slide in the sixth inning and was then pulled in the seventh. He was replaced at third base by Michael Chavis. The Nationals should have more on Candelario's condition shortly.
