  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Homers in win

Riley went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Tuesday's victory over Philadelphia.

Riley got Atlanta on the board in the sixth inning with a solo shot of Ranger Suarez, tying the game 1-1. The 26-year-old third baseman had been slumping of late, batting just .128 (5-for-39) with no extra-base hits over his previous 10 contests. Overall, Riley's slashing .259/.323/.430 with 12 homers, 43 runs scored and 35 RBI across 286 at-bats this season.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: On bench Wednesday

Moustakas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

The lefty-hitting Moustakas had started at first base in three of the Rockies' last four games, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday while Cincinnati brings a southpaw (Andrew Abbott) to the hill. Elehuris Montero will replace Moustakas at first base.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Sits again Wednesday

Senzel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Senzel will take a seat for the second day in a row and the third time in four games after going just 1-for-13 at the dish since returning from the injured list earlier this month. With Will Benson swinging a hot bat thus far in June, he appears to have the edge over Senzel for the final spot in the Reds' everyday outfield for the time being.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Reds' Kevin Newman: On bench in second straight

Newman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Though Newman started in five of the Reds' last seven games, he'll likely be limited to a short-side platoon role moving forward. With Joey Votto's recent return from the 60-day injured list, the Cincinnati infield is looking more crowded these days, and Newman will find himself as the odd man out more often than not.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Homers as part of three-hit day

De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.

De La Cruz got his night going with an opposite-field blast in the third inning as part of the first three-hit performance of his young MLB career. The 21-year-old now has eight hits over his last four games and has raised his slash line to .308/.379/.519 to go with two homers, six RBI, 13 runs, six steals and a 6:19 BB:K over 58 plate appearances.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Could be activated this weekend

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters before Tuesday's game versus the Angels that Muncy (hamstring) has a chance to return off the injured list over the weekend, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Roberts said that Muncy's left hamstring was "responding" and the infielder was able to run the bases and take grounders before Tuesday's game. Muncy is eligible to come off the injured list Friday, and while there's no guarantee that occurs, it does appear he'll return to the lineup without requiring a rehab stint as long as he continues to make progress.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Giants' J.D. Davis: Returns to lineup

Davis (ankle) will start at third base and bat third Tuesday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

A sprained right ankle has kept Davis out of the starting lineup for the Giants' last five games, though he's been able to come off the bench during the last three contests. Davis is slashing .310/.388/.500 over 49 plate appearances since the beginning of June.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Runs bases, fields grounders

Muncy (hamstring) ran the bases and took grounders at third base ahead of Tuesday's game against the Angels, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Muncy has been dealing with a hamstring strain since June 13 and was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday. The 32-year-old third baseman is eligible to return from the IL on Friday, and his participation in pregame activities is a good sign he could be good to go by then.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Sitting against lefty

Baty is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

Eduardo Escobar will handle third base and bat ninth with left-hander Framber Valdez on the mound for Houston. The left-handed-hitting Baty holds an overall .241/.317/.355 slash line with four homers and 20 RBI through 50 major-league games this year.

  • Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE

Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Placed on minor-league IL

Kieboom (oblique) was placed on the injured list Tuesday at Triple-A Rochester, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Kieboom is headed for an MRI after tweaking his left oblique in a recent game versus the Triple-A affiliate of the Yankees. The 25-year-old former top prospect has also missed time this season with shoulder and lat problems. He sat out all of 2022 due to Tommy John elbow surgery.
