  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Stays hot Monday

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Monday's 6-3 extra-innings loss to the Blue Jays.

Muncy homered for the third game in a row, and he's hit safely in five straight contests (8-for-21). The infielder also got above the Mendoza line Monday -- he's hitting .201 on the year, his highest mark since June 8. He's added an .819 OPS, 25 long balls, 65 RBI, 58 runs scored and a stolen bases through 347 plate appearances.

  • Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Gets on base four times

Rivera went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Monday's 10-6 loss to the Cardinals.

All three of Rivera's hits were singles in this contest. He's gone 10-for-42 (.238) over 12 contests in July while sharing third base with Evan Longoria. Rivera boasts a .290/.330/.398 slash line with three home runs, 22 RBI, 31 runs scored, one stolen base and 11 doubles through 200 plate appearances this season. He could continue to wrangle playing time away from Longoria, who has gone just 4-for-27 (.148) this month.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Extends hitting streak with homer

Arenado went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 10-6 win over the Diamondbacks.

Arenado is 13-for-33 (.394) with two homers and 13 RBI during his active eight-game hitting streak. His blast came in the fifth inning to give the Cardinals a 5-2 lead, which they squandered before rallying back ahead in the ninth. The third baseman is well on his way to another 30-homer campaign -- he's at 22 for the year while adding 77 RBI, 48 runs scored, two stolen bases and a .290/.338/.527 slash line through 97 contests.

  • Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Drives in three runs

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Monday's loss to the Rockies.

Candelario's eighth-inning blast was his 16th of the year and sixth of the month. He's produced just two multi-hit games in July, going 13-for-57 (.228) during that span. The 29-year-old third baseman's season numbers are still impressive -- Candelario is slashing .257/.335/.486 with 50 RBI and 46 extra-base hits through 93 games and has turned himself into a quality trade chip for the Nationals.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Reds' Kevin Newman: Activated from injured list

Newman (illness) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Newman missed the minimum 10 days due to a bout with gastritis. He'll likely go back to playing regularly against left-handed pitching.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Sitting Monday versus lefty

McMahon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The initial lineup Colorado released Monday included McMahon at third base, but he'll end up heading to the bench while Alan Trejo picks up a start at the hot corner. The Rockies haven't indicated that McMahon was scratched from the starting nine due to an injury-related issue, so he's presumably just getting a day off due to the lefty-on-lefty matchup. Southpaw Patrick Corbin is on the hill for Washington in the series opener.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Racks up three hits

Arenado (leg) went 3-for-4 in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Cubs.

Arenado played the full game at third base after exiting Saturday's contest with left leg stiffness. While he put in a good effort, the Cardinals' Nos. 1, 2 and 4 hitters combined to go 0-for-13 with a walk, eliminating Arenado's chances of getting involved in run production. The third baseman is on a seven-game hitting streak, going 12-for-28 (.429) in that span. He's up to a .291/.340/.523 slash line with 21 home runs, 76 RBI, 47 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples and two stolen bases through 96 contests overall.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Goes deep in win

Senzel went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Senzel. who made just his second start since the All-Star break, extended the Reds early lead to 3-0 with his two-run shot in the bottom of the second inning. The home run was the eighth for Senzel, whose plate appearances have dropped off dramatically since the end of May. He went from 106 plate appearances in May to 47 during June and stands at 22 in July.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Scratched from rehab game

Madrigal (hamstring) was scratched from the lineup for Triple-A Iowa on Sunday due to "general lower body fatigue," Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.

The lower-body issue doesn't sound like anything particularly worrisome, though it'll presumably end up pushing back Madrigal's return from the 10-day injured list while he works his way back from a strained right hamstring. Whenever Madrigal is cleared to rejoin the Cubs, he'll likely be ticketed for a reserve role now that Chicago has all its other key position players healthy again.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Slugs grand slam in loss

Muncy went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Rangers.

Muncy helped the Dodgers cash in a productive first inning against Texas starter Martin Perez. While Muncy hit a grand slam for his third homer in four games, he also struck out three times Sunday. The infielder continues to supply power with little other contact -- he's slashing .196/.327/.477 with 24 homers, 63 RBI, 57 runs scored and a stolen base while also striking out at a career-worst 27.8 percent rate through 81 games.
