  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Out of Friday's lineup

Chapman is out of Friday's lineup against the Phillies.

With Oakland playing in a National League park, Ryon Healy will get the nod at third base, hitting fifth, which pushes Chapman to the bench. Chapman should be available as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Leads Tribe to 22nd straight victory

Ramirez went 4-for-4 with a walk and scored the game-winning run in Thursday's 3-2, walkoff victory over the Royals.

Ramirez pounded out two more doubles Thursday to extending his MLB-leading total to 50. He now ranks fourth in the AL in batting average (.314) and runs (97), while maintaining the league's third-best OPS (.941).

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Hits first home run with Tigers

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a home run in Thursday's loss to the White Sox.

The homer was the second of Candelario's career and his first since joining Detroit in the Justin Wilson trade. He may not have super exciting tools, but the 23-year-old Candelario has been hitting at a strong clip since stepping into a regular role, going 15-for-43 (.349 average) to begin September.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Stuffs stat sheet Thursday

Moncada went 4-for-5 with two walks, a home run, five runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's win over Detroit.

This was easily the best game of Moncada's career to this point, as he reached base in six of seven trips to the plate and tied Tim Raines' franchise record with the five runs, according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. He raised his average more than 20 points in this one (from .207 to .229). The 22-year-old is still a work in progress when it comes to picking up spin and recognizing offspeed stuff, but he's now hit safely in six straight, flashing the potential that made him the No. 1 overall prospect in baseball.

  • Jomar Reyes 3B | BAL

Orioles' Jomar Reyes: Falls short of Double-A in 2017

Reyes wrapped up his injury-plagued 2017 season at with a .302/.333/.434 slash line through 50 games at High-A Frederick.

The top prospect missed a majority of the season after punching a wall, causing Reyes to need surgery on his right pinky finger. He entered the year with high hopes of moving into MiLB's higher levels, but the 20-year-old will need to wait another year before making that happen.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: Contributes homer in win over Rangers

Segura went 2-for-4 with his 10th homer, a walk, two RBI and two runs against the Rangers on Wednesday.

He'd been cold for a seven-game stretch, hitting just .133 over 30 at-bats, so this was a welcome rebound for Segura's fantasy owners, who usually haven't had to worry about his batting average. The 27-year-old's season numbers have been hurt by the time he's spent on the DL, but .297 with 10 homers and 20 steals from the shortstop position is still getting it done for fantasy owners.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Connects for MLB-best 48th double Wednesday

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a double, his MLB-leading 48th of the year, one walk and two runs Wednesday against Detroit.

Through 139 games and 537 at-bats, Ramirez is slashing .309/.363/.566 with 26 home runs, 73 RBI and 96 runs. His .929 OPS ranks fourth among MLB third baseman, and the 24-year-old leads his AL counterparts in all three slash categories. Owners who drafted Ramirez have enjoyed a career campaign that still has some gas left in its tank.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Tuesday's absence was planned

Manager Ned Yost said Moustakas' absence from Tuesday's lineup was nothing more than a scheduled rest day, The Associated Press reports.

Moose has been dealing with right knee irritation, and that was obvious Monday when the third baseman made a couple of errant throws to first base while pushing off his plant leg. His efforts at the plate have been underwhelming in recent weeks, too, further indicating something's not right. The playoffs are still on the radar for Kansas City, so Moustakas will surely push through the ailment, at least until the postseason is out of reach.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Starting at second base Tuesday

Ramirez (wrist) is batting third and starting at second base Tuesday against the Tigers.

Ramirez sustained a bruised forearm after getting hit by a pitch Monday night, and although he was removed from the contest, he won't be forced to miss additional time due to the injury. The 24-year-old is slashing an impressive .308/.361/.566 with 26 homers and 15 stolen bases this year. He'll face southpaw Matt Boyd as the Indians go for their 20th consecutive win.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Moustakas is out of Tuesday's lineup against the White Sox, 601 Sports Radio Kansas City reports.

He is hitting just .221/.303/.338 with one home run over his last 68 at-bats, and will sit for the second time in the last five games. Cheslor Cuthbert starts at third base and will hit ninth against righty Dylan Covey.
