DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Getting second opinion on injury
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that LeMahieu will meet with a hand specialist Monday to receive a second opinion on his sprained left thumb, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
Based on what the specialist has to say about the injury, LeMahieu will decide whether or not to undergo surgery on the thumb. If a procedure is deemed necessary, LeMahieu's absence could stretch into mid-September or longer, making him a drop candidate in most redraft leagues. Until the Yankees are able to provide a clearer timeline for LeMahieu's potential return, fantasy managers are probably best suited stashing him on their bench or in an IL spot.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Moves to IL
The Yankees placed LeMahieu (thumb) on the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Manager Aaron Boone suggested after Saturday's 11-5 win over the Red Sox that the sprained left thumb LeMahieu picked up during the game could be an IL situation, so it's no real surprise that the Yankees deactivated him a day later. Miguel Andujar was recalled from the Yankees' alternate site in a corresponding move, and he could end up settling into a near-everyday role at third base if the Yankees elect to move Gleyber Torres or Gio Urshela over to LeMahieu's usual post at the keystone. In any case, LeMahieu becomes the third significant Yankees regular to head to the IL in the past week, with designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) and Aaron Judge (calf) getting shut down before him.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Ramping up activity
Madrigal (shoulder) is playing catch and taking groundballs, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Madrigal is hoping for a return this week and appears to be progressing toward that goal. With Leury Garcia (thumb) out until 2021, the second-base job should be Madrigal's once he's ready. Danny Mendick is handling the chores at the keystone until the rookie finishes his rehab.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Could head to injured list
Manager Aaron Boone indicated Saturday that LeMahieu's sprained thumb could send him to the injured list, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
LeMahieu underwent an X-ray after leaving Saturday's game against the the Red Sox, which came back negative. While that's encouraging, he's yet to receive the results of his CT scan and MRI, and Boone didn't seem particularly confident that LeMahieu's injury was a minor one. The second baseman dealt with a similar injury in 2018 and wound up missing just over two weeks.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Diagnosed with sprained thumb
LeMahieu was diagnosed with a sprained left thumb Saturday and will undergo further tests.
LeMahieu appeared to be in some discomfort following a swing in the fourth inning, though he remained in the game until the sixth, when he was replaced by Tyler Wade. LeMahieu's timeline should become clearer once the results of his tests are known.
