Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Breaks homer drought

LeMahieu went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and double in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Phillies.

LeMahieu pulled the Yankees into a 7-7 tie with a three-run homer off Hector Neris in the ninth inning. The clutch long ball broke a 29-game drought without a homer for the infielder, which dated back to May 7. He'll look to build off his big day at the plate as he seeks to improve on a .257/.332/.340 slash line going forward.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Snaps homer drought in win

Rendon went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and four RBI on Saturday in an 8-7 win against Arizona.

Rendon put the Angels on the board in the fourth inning, slugging a solo homer to left field. He plated another two runs with a double in the following frame and tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. The third baseman snapped a 27-game, 102-at-bat stretch without a home run, the second-longest power drought of his career. He is slashing .241/.317/.370 with four homers and 30 RBI on the season.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Plates one, scores one

Devers went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jays. He was also caught stealing a base.

Devers was directly involved in the team's two runs. The third baseman now has 49 RBI on the season but was caught off guard on the basepaths a couple times, getting caught while stealing once and getting picked off once as well. The fifth-year third baseman currently ranks second in the American League in RBI, only behind Vladimir Guerrero, who has 52.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Comes close to cycle

Chapman went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three total RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over the Royals.

Chapman was a key offensive piece for the Athletics on Saturday, blasting his sixth homer of the season in the sixth inning and also ripping his ninth double of the campaign. The star third baseman has hit safely in four of Oakland's last six games and has posted back-to-back multi-hit games. He's hitting .305 across 36 at-bats this month.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Remains out for intake testing

Candelario was transferred from the bereavement list to the COVID-19 injured list Saturday as he goes through intake testing before he can return to the roster.

Candelario has been away from the team since hitting the bereavement list Tuesday. He'll wait at least one more day before being activated, though his absence shouldn't be a long one unless the tests come back with unexpected results.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Raps out pair of doubles

Chapman went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, another two-bagger and two runs in a win over the Royals on Friday.

The struggling third baseman led the Athletics in hits on the night with his first multi-hit effort since June 2. Chapman also went without a punchout for only the second time in the last 12 games, but he continues to carry a bloated 32.0 percent strikeout rate for the season that qualifies as the second highest of his career.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Day off Saturday

Moncada is not in Saturday's lineup against the Tigers.

He is hitting .212 with one home run and one steal in 33 at-bats this month. Leury Garcia will start at third base and bat eighth.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Strong performance Friday

Ramirez went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored and two walks in Friday's win over the Mariners.

Ramirez reached base in all five of his plate appearances. He's been seeing the ball well of late, hitting safely in all but one of his seven games this month while posting four multi-hit contests in that stretch. The star third baseman is hitting .429 with a 1.162 OPS across his first 31 plate appearances this month.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: No hits but contributes

Bregman went 0-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 6-4 win over the Twins.

Bregman had a four-game hit streak (8-for-18) snapped, but he contributed to the win nonetheless. The third baseman had a couple of run-producing outs, then saved a run in the bottom of the eighth with a gold-glove caliber stop down the third-base line. The stolen base was Bregman's first since 2019.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Launches two long balls

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs Friday in a loss to Houston.

After drilling a clutch game-tying homer in the ninth inning against Aroldis Chapman on Thursday, Donaldson carried over the momentum into Friday's contest against Houston. He swatted a solo shot to left field in the third inning, then tied the game in the bottom of the eighth with a blast to right field. Donaldson is up to 10 homers on the campaign, with five having come over his past seven games.
