  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Notches two hits

Toro went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBI in Monday's 11-2 loss to the Astros.

Toro doubled home the only two runs of the game for the Mariners after sending a ball to deep left field off Lance McCullers in the third inning. The 24-year-old has four multi-hit efforts over his last six games and has nine RBI over that span. Since coming over from Houston, Toro is slashing .314/.394/.457 with four homers, 21 RBI, 17 runs scored, two steals and 15:18 BB:K over 37 games.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Out Monday with injury

Urias (upper leg) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Baltimore won't be calling up another infielder in a corresponding move, so the Orioles will be left with a thin bench in Monday's series opener while Urias tends to the upper-leg injury. With Urias unavailable, look for Jorge Mateo to pick up the start at shortstop, while Kelvin Gutierrez mans third base.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

    Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Average climbing

LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a run and a walk in Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles.

LeMahieu has cobbled together a six-game hitting streak, which has helped him lift his season-long batting average from .264 to .268. That mark still represents LeMahieu's lowest in any season since 2014 with the Rockies (.267 average), but a strong September could still help salvage what has been a disappointing campaign for the 33-year-old. He'll start at second base and stay atop the lineup for Monday's series opener with the Blue Jays.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Shakes off hand injury

Urshela (hand) will start at third base and bat ninth Monday against the Blue Jays.

He'll check back into the starting nine for the first time since last Tuesday after a sore left hand kept him out of the lineup for each of the previous four games. Urshela was able to make a cameo off the bench in Sunday's 8-7 loss to Baltimore as a pinch hitter, which was apparently enough to convince the Yankees that he was ready to return to an everyday role in the field. With Urshela back in the fold, Rougned Odor is expected to move back into a utility role.

  • Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Sitting again Monday

Rivera is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Rivera will sit for the third time in four games and looks to have lost out on reps as a result of Adalberto Mondesi's return from the injured list Sept. 1 in addition to the promotion of outfielder Edward Olivares on Aug. 27. Given that Rivera has delivered a modest .649 OPS in 98 plate appearances with the big club this season, he may not have a strong case for recapturing a full-time role in September.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Hit streak snapped, for now

Moncada went 0-for-4 in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Royals.

Moncada, who sat out Saturday due to wrist soreness, saw an end to a 17-game hit streak with Sunday's 0-fer. However, manager Tony La Russa told Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times that the league will be asked to review a play and perhaps take an error away from Kansas City second baseman Whit Merrifield.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Swipes bag, drives in two

Toro went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs, two RBI, a strikeout, a stolen base and a caught stealing in a 10-4 extra-innings triumph over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Toro recorded an RBI fielder's choice and was caught stealing second in the fourth inning, doubled and scored in the seventh, stole second after hitting into another fielder's choice in the ninth, and knocked an RBI single before scoring in the 11th. The infielder has now posted consecutive multi-hit games while the theft was his first since July 28. He appears to have entrenched himself as Seattle's regular second baseman, at least for the remainder of the season.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Exits with upper leg soreness

Urias left Sunday's win over the Yankees due to upper leg soreness, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Urias missed several games in mid-August due to upper leg soreness, and the issue apparently flared up in Sunday's series finale. Prior to his departure, the 27-year-old went 1-for-2 with a run and a walk. It's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss additional time due to his current injury.

  • Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Not starting Sunday

Rivera is on the bench for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Rivera went 1-for-4 with a double Saturday and is now hitting .242 with three doubles and two RBI in his last 10 games. Adalberto Mondesi is playing third base Sunday while Carlos Santana occupies the DH spot.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Back in lineup

Moncada (wrist) is batting second and playing third base Sunday against the Royals, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Wrist pain kept Moncada on the bench Saturday but he's back in action for Sunday's series finale. The switch-hitting third baseman has hit .350 with three doubles and three RBI in his last 10 games.
