Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Logs 40th steal
Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a steal and two runs scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Twins.
Ramirez walked and scored in the first inning before he doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the eighth. He's scored runs in five consecutive games, crossing home plate seven times while going 6-for-18 with five walks, three steals, one home run and three RBI. Ramirez also stole a base in the eighth inning, upping his season total to 40, his second consecutive season with at least 40 steals.

Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Stealing bases at high rate
Lewis went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Friday's 6-2 loss to Cleveland.
Although it's been a lost season for the most part for Lewis -- he has a .680 OPS in 2025 -- it's certainly an encouraging sign to see how active he's been on the basepaths lately. The oft-injured third baseman has 11 of his 12 steals for the year over his last 25 outings, which signals that he's fully healthy as the campaign draws closer to an end. Lewis is flashing the upside that made him the No. 1 overall pick back in 2017, hitting .275 and slugging .461 with seven extra-base hits and 19 RBI over his last 102 at-bats.

Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW
White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Cracks 15th homer
Vargas went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 4-3 victory over San Diego.
The Chicago infielder opened the contest's scoring with a 371-foot, two-run blast off Padres starter Dylan Cease in the first. Prior to this performance, Vargas had struggled over eight games since returning from a hand injury Sept. 10, batting .115 (3-for-26) with eight strikeouts and no walks. The 25-year-old is now slashing .228/.309/.397 with 73 runs scored and 55 RBI in 534 total plate appearances.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
Angels' Yoan Moncada: Returns to lineup
Moncada (ankle) is batting third and playing third base Friday against Colorado, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Moncada is in the starting lineup for the first time since picking up a left ankle injury Sunday. The third baseman has slashed .239/.342/.462 with 12 home runs this season. He's hitless with four strikeouts in his last seven at-bats, however.

Junior Caminero 3B | TB
Rays' Junior Caminero: Idle again Friday
Caminero (back tightness) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Boston.
Caminero is out of the lineup for a second straight game after being lifted from Wednesday's contest with mid-back tightness. Tristan Gray will bat sixth and play third base Friday. Caminero is taking swings in the batting cage Friday, and if all goes well, he'll be back in action Saturday.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Reinstated from 60-day injured list
The Astros activated Paredes (hamstring) from the 60-day injured list Friday.
Paredes suffered a torn right hamstring in mid-July that threatened to end his season, but opted to forego surgery in hopes that he could make it back late in the year. He has accomplished that goal, though Paredes is likely not yet 100 percent and will be asked to take it easy on the basepaths. With Yordan Alvarez (ankle) landing on the 10-day injured list, Paredes will step into the Astros' designated hitter role.

Brett Harris 3B | ATH
Athletics' Brett Harris: Out of Friday's lineup
Harris is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Pittsburgh.
After starting three straight games at third base earlier this week, Harris has now been held out of the lineup in back-to-back contests. Darell Hernaiz will play the hot corner and Zack Gelof will handle second base in Friday's series opener. Harris and Gelof could continue to form a quasi-platoon down the stretch, though it will be difficult to know ahead of time which of the two of them is going to start since they both bat from the right side of the plate.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: To be activated Friday
The Astros will reinstate Paredes (hamstring) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Mariners, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Paredes strained his hamstring in mid-July, but bypassed surgery in hopes of returning late in the 2025 season. The decision will pay off Friday, as he's slated to come off the injured list in time for a three-game set against the Mariners, who are tied with Houston atop the AL West. Paredes will be used as a designated hitter once reinstated, and he may be asked to run less than full speed on the basepaths. Still, it's a significant boost to the Astros' lineup. He slashed .259/.359/.470 with 19 home runs, 51 runs and 50 RBI in 409 plate appearances before sustaining the injury.

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Tigers.
Ramirez provided the decisive blow in the seventh inning with a two-run homer into the right field stands at Comerica Park, completing Cleveland's sweep of the first-place Tigers. The streaky Guardians, which have won seven in a row, are now 3.5 games back in the AL Central and 1.5 out of a wild card. The home run was the 29th for Ramirez, who also has 80 RBI, 39 steals and 96 runs scored over 148 contests.
