  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Not starting Sunday

Devers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Toronto.

Devers has a .360/.467/.440 slash line over his past seven games and will take a seat for the series finale versus the Blue Jays. Bobby Dalbec will step in at the hot corner and bat eighth in the series finale.

  • Tyler Freeman 3B | COL

Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Sent down Saturday

Freeman was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.

Freeman had lost out on playing time recently, as he was in the lineup for just two of the last 10 games. The 23-year-old will be cast off the active roster as part of a move after Bo Naylor's contract was selected Saturday.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Day off Saturday

Ramirez isn't starting Saturday against the Royals.

Ramirez has gone 1-for-11 with a three-run homer, a walk and two strikeouts over the last three games, and he'll have a chance to rest Saturday. Gabriel Arias is taking over at the hot corner and batting seventh.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Sits again Saturday

Candelario remains on the bench for Saturday's game against the Twins.

Candelario's age-28 season has been a disappointing one, as his .210/.267/.360 slash line (78 wRC+) represents a significant drop from the .278/.356/.458 line (125 wRC+) he managed over the previous two years. He'll sit for the second straight game, with Brendon Davis getting the nod at third base.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Gets Saturday off

Suarez will be on the bench Saturday against Oakland.

The Mariners clinched their first playoff berth since 2001 with a victory Friday night, and they've rewarded several of their regulars with a day off Saturday. Abraham Toro will be the third baseman in his absence.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Tallies 23rd homer

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Rays.

Bregman took Drew Rasmussen deep in the first inning to tally his 23rd homer of the season. Despite hitting only .232 across 24 games in September, Bregman reached base at a .353 clip with 12 runs scored and 15 RBI. Overall, he has a .262/.369/.463 line across 637 plate appearances on the season.

Rays' Taylor Walls: Slugs eighth homer

Walls went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Friday against the Astros.

Walls was in the lineup for the fourth time in the Rays' last five games, and he tallied his eighth homer of the season in the eighth inning against Phil Maton. He has tallied a home run and a stolen base with four runs scored in that same five-game span. Walls also had two long balls, three stolen bases and 12 runs scored across 23 games in September, though he hit just .185 for the month.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Retreats to bench

LeMahieu isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Orioles.

LeMahieu returned from the injured list for Friday's series opener against the Orioles, but he went 0-for-3 in the loss. Gleyber Torres will draw the start at the keystone and bat third Saturday.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Blasts 29th homer

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Royals.

Every Guardian hitter had exactly one hit Friday, but Ramirez made his count the most with a three-run, go-ahead blast in the sixth inning. The third baseman struggled a bit in September, batting .229 with three homers, four steals, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored across 29 contests. He's still slashing an impressive .274/.351/.512 with 29 homers, 122 RBI, 87 runs scored and 18 steals in 153 contests overall. He needs just one more long ball to reach the 30-homer mark for the third time in his career.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Three hits in return

Moncada (foot) went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 3-1 win over the Padres.

Moncada missed the last two games due to a bone bruise on his foot. The third baseman played the full game Friday and was effective from the No. 6 spot in the order. He put up six multi-hit efforts in 19 games in September, going 24-for-82 (.293) for the month. He's slashing just .218/.282/.364 with 12 home runs, 50 RBI, 40 runs scored and two stolen bases through 99 contests overall.
