  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Picks up fifth steal

Peterson went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 10-1 loss to the Astros.

Peterson went hitless for the fifth time in his last six games, a span in which he's gone 1-for-19, but he was able to make an impact in his one trip on base. The steal was his fifth of the season. He's hitting just .146 (6-for-41) over his last 14 contests, but the Athletics are lacking for more effective options. Peterson has a .194/.291/.285 slash line with three home runs, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored through 165 plate appearances as Oakland's primary third baseman this year.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Slated to return Monday

Lewis (knee) will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Lewis tore his ACL in June of 2022 and was forced to begin the season on the 60-day IL, but he began a rehab assignment in early May and will return from the IL when first eligible. Over 10 rehab games between Double-A Wichita and Triple-A St. Paul, he slashed .333/.395/.692 with four homers, two doubles, 11 RBI, 10 runs and four steals.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Drives in four Sunday

Paredes went 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-10 victory over the Dodgers.

Paredes opened the scoring Sunday with a first-inning RBI single. He notched two more RBI with a double in the second before adding a solo homer off Phil Bickford in the fourth. Paredes has gone 17-for-49 with four home runs and 16 RBI in his last 15 games. He's now slashing .282/.354/.491 with eight homers, 37 RBI and 27 runs scored through 181 plate appearances this season.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Returns to lineup Sunday

Devers (calf) will start at third base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Devers was idle for the first two games of the series in Arizona while battling a sore left calf, but after he was able to run on the field without issue Sunday, he'll be cleared to enter the lineup for the finale. In his return to action, Devers will be looking to put an end to a 2-for-19 skid at the plate over his last five starts before he hit the bench with the injury.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Clutch hitting persists Saturday

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a run-scoring single, an RBI sacrifice fly and a run in a win over the Pirates on Saturday.

While Suarez's season average sits at a lackluster .219, the veteran slugger's knack for clutch hitting has resulted in him now compiling 31 RBI across 52 games. Suarez is hitting a blistering .375 over 67 plate appearances with men in scoring position, and he already boasts 11 multi-RBI games in 2023. The veteran's productive day Saturday snapped a brief 0-for-16 skid that had encompassed his previous four contests.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Hits bench Sunday

Moncada is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Moncada will give way to Hanser Alberto at third base after occupying the position in each of Chicago's last nine games. Since returning earlier this month following a stint on the injured list, Moncada is slashing .264/.328/.358 with zero home runs, one stolen base, eight runs and seven RBI over 15 games.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Heads to bench Sunday

Walls is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Walls still lacks a direct path to an everyday spot at any one position, but he'd stuck in the lineup at either second or third base in each of the previous five games and racked up five stolen bases over that stretch. Thanks to his strong defense, excellent baserunning and improved production at the plate, Walls should be in store for only one or two off days a week even when Tampa Bay is at full strength.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Angels' Gio Urshela: Homers, drives in three in loss

Urshela went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Saturday's 8-5 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Each of Urshela's hits knocked in a run, and he came up a triple shy of the cycle. The infielder hasn't supplied much power this season, as his solo shot was just his second homer in 49 contests on the year, and he's added just seven doubles. He's at least made consistent contact lately, hitting safely in 10 of his last 12 games to raise his slash line to .318/.337/.392 with 23 RBI, 19 runs scored and three stolen bases through 184 plate appearances.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Swats sixth homer of season

LeMahieu went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, one double and an additional RBI in Saturday's victory over the Padres.

After going 4-for-31(.129) in eight games leading up to Saturday's contest, LeMahieu strung together a mult-hit performance that was highlighted by a solo homer he hit off Michael Wacha in the seventh. Through 47 games, LeMahieu is slashing .257/.326/.427 with six home runs, 21 runs and 21 RBI. He is also striking out 25.8 percent of the time, nearly double his 2022 rate of 13.1 percent.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Not yet taking grounders

Rendon (groin) did some agility work Saturday, but he hasn't yet started fielding grounders, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

It's the second straight day that Rendon has worked on the field, though Blum noted Friday that the third baseman still has "no specific timeline" for a return. Rendon is expected to travel with the Angels on their trip to Chicago that starts Monday, and he may begin fielding groundballs then. It's possible that Rendon could be activated by the end of that series, but an early June activation seems more feasible.
