Orioles' Manny Machado: Likely to avoid DL, per Showalter
Manager Buck Showalter is optimistic that Machado (wrist) will be able to avoid a stint on the disabled list, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
Although Machado is set to miss his third straight game Saturday due to a strained wrist, it appears that his absence could be coming to an end sooner rather than later. Ruben Tejada will get the start at third base Saturday.

Orioles' Manny Machado: Remains out Saturday
Machado (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.
Ruben Tejada will draw another start at third base Saturday with Machado still sidelined with a sore wrist. There's still no timetable for Machado's return after he was spiked on a slide by Andrew McCutchen on Wednesday, which leaves his status heading into Sunday's series finale in question.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Drives in two Friday
Bregman finished 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI against the Angels on Friday.
After homering in each of the final three days of May, Bregman had not put one over the fence in June until Friday. It hasn't been easy for Bregman this season, but he continues to play almost every day, and the nine-hole bears more fruit when you're part of Major League Baseball's top scoring offense.

Orioles' Manny Machado: Not in Friday's lineup
Machado (wrist) is out of the lineup for Friday's contest with the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Machado was held out of Thursday's game with the Nationals after being spiked on a slide by Andrew McCutchen at third base Wednesday night. The Orioles are taking precautions with their superstar, inserting Ruben Tejada at third base for the series opener against New York. It is still up in the air as to whether Machado will return for Saturday's game, and he should be considered day-to-day for now.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Rays' Matt Duffy: Moves to 60-day DL
Duffy (heel) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Friday.
Moving Duffy to the 60-day DL provides the Rays with another spot on the 40-man roster, which will be used to accommodate the recently acquired Taylor Featherston. Duffy's heel injury has continued to linger even after beginning fielding drills and batting practice, and the 26-year-old has been unable to progress to a rehab assignment in the past few weeks. With the addition of Featherston, signs point toward Duffy needing more time to recover from the heel injury that required surgery last September.

Orioles' Manny Machado: Continues to deal with sore wrist
Machado (wrist) is unsure when he'll be ready to return to the lineup, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Although Machado's X-rays came back negative, his strained wrist is still giving him trouble and he told reporters that the soreness increased after Wednesday's game. He sat out of Thursday's makeup game against the Nationals, and his comments after the game make it sound as though another absence for Friday's series opener in New York is at least possible. More updates are sure to follow throughout the day Friday, but if Machado is given another day off to rest his wrist, Chris Davis could make another start at third base.

Orioles' Manny Machado: Held out Thursday
Machado (wrist) is not in the lineup Thursday against the Nationals, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
It was unlikely that the stud third baseman would play Thursday evening after he was diagnosed with a strained wrist earlier in the day, but this makes it official. Macahdo is currently wearing a soft cast on his ailing wrist, so he should be considered day-to-day for the time being. Chris Davis will move to the hot corner to fill in for him.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Rays' Matt Duffy: Concerns rising about health of heel
Manager Kevin Cash said that there's "definite concern" about Duffy's heel, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Per Cash, Duffy's heel continues to bother him despite taking numerous measures to ease his way through the rehab process. The embattled infielder underwent surgery back in September of last season, and despite rumors of him being available at the beginning of spring training even, he's been unable to get back into game action of any capacity since the operation. Duffy has progressed to running, fielding and taking batting practice, although it seems like problems are still arising that are keeping him from heading out on a rehab assignment. More information on the topic should come forth once he makes progress again, but things are looking somewhat bleak at the moment for Duffy.

Orioles' Manny Machado: MRI shows strained wrist
Machado (wrist) has a strained left wrist following the results of his MRI, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
The initial reports from Machado's MRI came back clean, but it now appears as though the third baseman has suffered a strained wrist, in addition to bruising on his hand. Machado will still be considered day-to-day at the moment with a soft brace on his wrist, but it seems unlikely that he will be listed in the lineup for Thursday's matchup with the Nats.

Orioles' Manny Machado: MRI comes back clean
The MRI on Machado's left wrist came back without any sign of damage, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
Machado also got an X-ray following his removal from Wednesday's game with left wrist soreness, which came back negative. In addition to the good news from his MRI, the 24-year-old could play in Thursday's game against Washington. He will be considered day-to-day for now, but it would not be a surprise if Baltimore gave him a day off as a precaution.
