It's unclear how much time Marte will require, and manager Torey Lovullo referred to the absence as "a day-to-day situation," per Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. Alexander has hit safely in three consecutive games, going 4-for-12 with three doubles and two RBI.

Castro went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-4 loss to Colorado.
Castro crushed his 10th homer of the campaign while also posting his second three-RBI showing in his past three outings. The utility man has settled in nicely following a rough start to the season, which saw him post a .227 batting average and .364 slugging percentage through April 16. Since May began, Castro is slashing .276/.374/.469 with 18 extra-base hits, 35 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 223 plate appearances.

Albies went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI during Friday's 7-3 win over the Yankees.
Albies knocked a three-run home run in the third inning that broke the game wide open. The 28-year-old's four RBI are the most he's had in a game this season, and he is now up to 33 RBI and eight homers through 96 games. Despite that, Albies is still largely struggling at the plate this season, slashing just .221/.290/.324, on pace to be the worst numbers of his nine-year career across the board.

Rodgers (oblique) was removed from his rehab game at Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday after a collision, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Rodgers' head collided with shortstop Edwin Diaz while both players attempted to field a groundball in the third inning. The severity of Rodgers' injury is unknown, though he was able to walk off the field under his own power. The 28-year-old will likely be evaluated for a concussion.

Astros' Brendan Rodgers: Starting rehab assignment
Rodgers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Rodgers is set for his first game action since June 18 due to a strained left oblique. It's unclear how many rehab appearances he'll need, but it looks like Rodgers is on track for a late July return. He is slashing .191/.266/.278 with two home runs in 128 plate appearances this season.

Diamondbacks' Sergio Alcantara: Signs with D-backs
Alcantara signed a one-year major-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Alcantara elected free agency after being DFA'd by the Giants last week, and he'll now find work as bench depth for the D-backs. He'll fill the roster opening created by Ketel Marte's (personal) move to the restricted list, though it will still be hard for him to find at-bats with the big club.

The Diamondbacks placed Marte on the restricted list Friday.
Marte requested additional time off after his home was burglarized during the All-Star break, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today, and the D-backs will accommodate his request. Blaze Alexander stands to benefit from extra playing time at second base while Marte is out, and Sergio Alcantara will fill the open roster spot after signing a big-league deal with the club Friday.

Giants' Christian Koss: Rehab stint coming soon
Koss (hamstring) is expected to begin his minor-league rehab assignment next week, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Koss resumed baseball activities shortly before the All-Star break and is approaching a minor-league rehab stint. The infielder has been on the shelf since July 1 due to a strained right hamstring. He should be activated in late July or early August.
