Rengifo will start at second base and bat cleanup Tuesday against the Tigers.
The 24-year-old was originally absent from Tuesday's starting nine due to some knee soreness, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, but the infielder checked out fine and is now in the lineup. Rengifo is 6-for-16 with a triple, a walk, an RBI and three runs through four games in September.

Rodgers started the past four contests and will head to the bench after he went 0-for-15 with three walks and three runs during that span. Ryan McMahon will shift to the keystone while Elehuris Montero starts at third base.

Arauz was designated for assignment Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
He had been on the restricted list at Triple-A Norfolk and will now be bumped off the 40-man roster. Arauz hit .132 in 41 MLB plate appearances and hit .250/.364/.286 in eight games with Norfolk.

Espinal is not in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup in Baltimore.
Espinal has now been absent for three of Toronto's last four games, including a couple games due to a hand injury, the result of a hit-by-pitch. He has just a .494 OPS over the last two weeks. Whit Merrifield will take over at second base and bat ninth while Espinal sits.

Rojas went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 5-0 win over the Padres.
Rojas swiped second base in the eighth inning and was one of two runners to come around on Christian Walker's two-out single. It was Rojas' 19th steal (caught three times), a career high at the MLB level. He has a history of activity on the basepaths in the minors, which didn't initially show in the majors, but Rojas has been more adventurous in 2022.

Villar went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-4 win over the Dodgers.
Villar drew the start at first base in this contest, his third start in the last four games since he was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento. He had gone 0-for-7 since the call-up before delivering a third-inning single and a two-run blast in the fourth. The 25-year-old infielder's had some trouble translating his success from the minors to the majors, as he's slashing just .181/.326/.319 with two homers, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, two doubles and a triple through 89 big-league plate appearances.
