Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Remains out of lineup
Hoerner (triceps) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.
A triceps injury confined Hoerner to the sidelines Monday, and he will open on the bench for one more day and possibly another, as the Cubs will have an off day Thursday. Zach McKinstry will handle the shortstop duties in Hoerner's place.

Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Three hits in Monday's win
Estrada went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 3-2 win over Atlanta.
Estrada was also caught stealing after his eighth-inning single. The second baseman has put up consecutive multi-hit efforts since snapping an 0-for-10 skid. He's batting .300 (12-for-40) with two steals, two home runs, four RBI and six runs scored through 11 games in September. The hot stretch has boosted his season slash line to .264/.321/.411 through 122 contests.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Bothered by sore back
Lowe was left out of the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays due to a sore back, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
It was a bit puzzling that Lowe was not in the lineup for Game 1, but the injury provides a reason for his absence. Manager Kevin Cash is hoping that Lowe will be available off the bench in the opener and/or be ready to return to action in Game 2.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Swipes another bag
Altuve went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base Monday against the Tigers.
Altuve tallied singles in the first and ninth innings and came around to score on both occasions. He was aggressive on the basepaths early in the game, stealing his second base in as many games and 17th of the season. That matches his highest total since the 2018 campaign, and Altuve has a chance to swipe 20 bags for the first time since 2017.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Left out of Game 1 lineup
Lowe is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Lowe will likely be in the lineup for the second game of the twin bill, but he will not start both games the Rays will play Tuesday. Taylor Walls will man the keystone in the afternoon game.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Goes deep in nightcap
Semien went 3-for-4 with a triple, a two-run home run and an additional run and RBI in a 10-6 loss to the Marlins in the second game of Monday's doubleheader.
Semien gave the Rangers a brief 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning with his 22nd homer, but Texas relievers gave it all back and then some in the bottom of the frame. The second baseman endured a rough couple of months to start his career in Texas (.524 OPS through June 1), but Semien has an .825 OPS over 92 games since June 2, bashing 21 of his 22 home runs since then.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Takes seat Monday
Rojas isn't in Arizona's lineup Monday against the Dodgers.
The lefty-hitting Rojas will take a seat Monday with lefty-throwing Tyler Anderson on the bump for Los Angeles. Emmanuel Rivera will take over third base in his absence and bat fifth in the order.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Rejoins active roster
The Mets reinstated Guillorme (groin) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Guillorme had been on the IL with a strained groin since Aug. 15. Having hit .283/.355/.357 and provided solid defense around the infield this season, the 27-year-old should get plenty of playing time for the remainder of the season, especially while Starling Marte (finger) is out of the lineup.
