  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Still out Thursday

Rodgers (hamstring) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Giants, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers, who has not played since Sunday due to a hamstring injury, recently underwent an MRI that showed encouraging results. However, he is still running out of time to make it back this season. Ryan McMahon is starting at second base while Elehuris Montero mans the hot corner.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Riding pine Tuesday

Massey is not in Thursday's lineup against the Twins.

Massey is hitting .255 with one home run and one stolen base in 15 games this month. Nicky Lopez is starting at the keystone and hitting eighth.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Drives in two during win

Gimenez went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the White Sox.

Gimenez tallied a pair of RBI singles, both off starter Lance Lynn. The second baseman has recorded multiple hits in four of his last nine games and has a .344/.417/.469 slash line during that stretch.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Defense costing playing time

Rojas was held out of Wednesday's start because he's slipped defensively, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

The lefty-hitting Rojas is usually a lineup staple against right-handed starters -- Dustin May was on the mound for the Dodgers -- but he was replaced at third base by Emmanuel Rivera, a right-handed batter. Rojas failed to convert three chances during an ugly eighth inning Tuesday, when the Dodgers plated five runs in a 6-5 Arizona loss. "I told him he has to work out here pregame, he's got to get back to the basic fundamentals and develop that feeling and flow and a confidence in picking up ground balls," manager Torey Lovullo said. Infield coach Tony Perezchica is working with Rojas on the infielder's technique. Rojas is tied at 32nd out of 36 qualified third basemen with a minus-7 outs above average.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Fills box score against Boston

India went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base Wednesday against the Red Sox.

India delivered a pair of RBI singles and also swiped his third base of the season. He's had a disappointing campaign and shown few signs of turning it around lately, as even after this strong effort he is hitting .219 with 10 RBI and six runs scored across 20 games in September. Overall, India has a 96 wRC+ and a .316 wOBA across 392 plate appearances for the season.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Continues raking with huge night

Torres went 3-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored in Wednesday's 14-2 victory over the Pirates.

The 25-year-old continued his torrid stretch and is now riding a 10-game hit streak, during which he is batting .400 (18-for-45) with four home runs, 10 runs scored and 14 RBI. The stretch has improved his slash line from .236/.289/.414 to .252/.304/.445 on the season.

  • Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal: Removed from game

Espinal was removed from Wednesday's game early due to left side discomfort.

Cavan Biggio came in to pinch hit for Espinal in the seventh inning. More updates will come on Espinal's status once the Blue Jays are able to get a better look at him.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Exits game early

Altuve left Wednesday's game early after being hit in the elbow by a pitch, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve stayed in the game briefly after being hit by a pitch in the fifth inning, but he was eventually replaced by Mauricio Dubon in the sixth. The Astros will take a look at Altuve's elbow and provide further updates once they receive results. For now, he should be considered day-to-day.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Sitting out Wednesday

Estrada (elbow) isn't in the lineup Wednesday against Colorado.

Estrada's elbow injury will keep him out of the lineup at least one game after he was struck by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Rockies. As a result, Wilmer Flores will start at second base, David Villar will serve as designated hitter, LaMonte Wade will come in to play first and Luis Gonzalez will start in right field, batting eighth.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Sitting out Wednesday

Rojas isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Rojas will take a seat Wednesday after going 1-for-4 in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader. While he rests, Emmanuel Rivera will take his spot at third base and bat fifth.
