  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Royals' Adam Frazier: Left out of lineup Sunday

Frazier is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

After starting the last five games and going 3-for-16 with one home run, one double, two walks, three runs and two RBI, Frazier will receive a breather. The Royals will go with Michael Massey at second base and Randal Grichuk in left field in the series finale.

  • Hye Seong Kim 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Third straight start vs. RHP

Kim will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Orioles.

After being activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kim came off the bench for the ensuing two contests, but he's now started in three straight games with right-handers on the mound for the opposition. The rookie could end up holding down a strong-side platoon role at the keystone until Tommy Edman (ankle) returns from the IL.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Not in Sunday's lineup

Gimenez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Gimenez started the previous 20 games and will receive a day off after posting a .185/.243/.292 slash line during that stretch. Davis Schneider is manning the keystone in Sunday's series finale for Toronto.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Pops two-run double in win

Schneemann started at second base and went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rays. He was also caught stealing.

Schneemann was integral to the win, which vaulted Cleveland above Tampa Bay in the postseason chase. He popped a two-run, bases-loaded double to left-center to put the Guardians on top in the fourth inning. He later led off the ninth with a single and scored the game-winning run. The offense came out of nowhere for Schneemann, who entered the contest on a 1-for-25 skid over the previous eight games.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Resting Sunday

Holliday is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

The Orioles will give Holliday a couple of days to catch his breath with a team day off coming Monday. Holliday had made 12 consecutive starts at second base, but he'll yield to Luis Vazquez on Sunday.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Hopes for rehab games this week

Donovan (groin) hopes to begin a rehab assignment sometime during the upcoming week, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Donovan has been upping his baseball activities as he works his way back from a left groin strain and appears almost ready to test things out in a game setting. He could be eyeing a return Sept. 15 when the Cardinals return to St. Louis to begin a homestand. Donovan has been sidelined since mid-August.

  • Matt McLain SS | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: In productive stretch

McLain went 1-for-1 with two walks and a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Mets.

McLain and other Cincinnati hitters jumped on New York right-hander Jonah Tong for homers in three consecutive innings. He's launched three homers in the last seven games and extended a hit streak to nine contests, during which he's gone 11-for-27 (.407) with three home runs, six RBI and eight runs. His .230 batting average is at its highest point since April 2.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Belts 15th homer

Torres went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Saturday's 6-0 win over the White Sox.

The second baseman capped a five-run fourth inning for the Tigers by lofting a Martin Perez changeup over the left-field fence. Torres is up to 15 homers on the year, reaching that mark for a fourth straight season, and he remains on course for a career-high OBP with a .261/.363/.399 slash line through 127 contests.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Sparks comeback with homer

Holliday went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Dodgers.

Holliday broke up Yoshinobu Yamamoto's no-hit bid with a two-out solo homer in the bottom of the ninth, kickstarting a comeback win by the Orioles. The 21-year-old has now hit safely in eight of his past nine games, collecting six extra-base hits, four RBI, six runs scored and three stolen bases during that stretch. On the season, he's slashing .248/.316/.394 with 17 home runs, 53 RBI, 65 runs scored and 15 steals across 579 plate appearances.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Out of Saturday's lineup

Edwards isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

The switch-hitting Edwards carries a .588 OPS against southpaws on the year, so he'll retreat to the dugout Saturday against left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Maximo Acosta will get the nod at second base instead while batting ninth.
