  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Lifts three-run homer

Marte went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 8-7 extra-innings loss to the Reds.

Marte's fifth-inning blast put the Diamondbacks ahead 4-0, but it wasn't a lead they could hold. The second baseman has gone 6-for-18 (.333) with two homers and five RBI over his last five games. For the season, he's at 21 long balls, 67 RBI, 80 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .274/.355/.479 slash line through 122 contests.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Belts another homer

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's victory over the Athletics.

Sosa was one of three White Sox players to hit a home run Saturday, tagging JP Sears for a long ball in the second inning. After logging one homer in his first 24 games, Sosa has launched three long balls in the last six days. During that stretch, Sosa is 6-for-22 (.272) and has been handling most of the work at second base.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Goes deep in rout

Rojas went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and an additional run scored in Saturday's 15-2 victory over the Royals.

The 29-year-old infielder put Seattle on the board with a third-inning solo shot off Jordan Lyles in what turned out to be a 15-2 blowout victory Saturday. Rojas has now hit safely in six consecutive contests, boasting a .444 batting average with two home runs, six RBI, nine runs and three steals across 27 at-bats during his hitting streak.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Clubs homer Saturday

Polanco went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Rangers.

Polanco had gone seven games without an extra-base hit, batting .273 (6-for-22) with three RBI in that span. The infielder continues to move around between second base, third base and designated hitter as the Twins find at-bats for Edouard Julien. Polanco is hitting a middling .250 with a .766 OPS, nine homers, 30 RBI, 21 runs scored and three stolen bases through 56 contests this year.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Not in Saturday's lineup

Westburg will hit the bench for Saturday's game against the Rockies, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Westburg sits for the second time in three games, which immediately follows a run of six straight starts. His .265/.304/.401 slash line (92 wRC+) through his first 44 major-league games is nothing special, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he continues to be treated as less than a true everyday player down the stretch. Adam Frazier starts at second base Saturday.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Not starting Saturday

Diaz is not in the starting nine for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Diaz finds himself on the bench for the third consecutive game. It's possible he's dealing with an unreported minor injury, but it's also possible his 2-for-29 showing over his previous 10 contests led the Athletics to decide to give him a few days off. Whatever the reason, Jonah Bride will get another start at the hot corner.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Idle against southpaw

Bae isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Lefty Jordan Wicks will start on the mound for his major-league debut Saturday, forcing the left-handed bat of Bae into the dugout. Liover Peguero will man second base in Bae's absence and bat seventh.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Not starting Saturday

Hoerner isn't in the Cubs' lineup Saturday against the Pirates, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Hoerner will sit out Saturday's contest after going 2-for-8 with an RBI and a run scored in the first two games of Chicago's series with Pittsburgh. Nick Madrigal will start at second base and bat ninth while Hoerner rests.

  • Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Stuck on bench

Dubon will sit Saturday against the Tigers.

Dubon finds himself on the bench for the fourth straight game. Jake Meyers will be in center field this time around, with Chas McCormick starting in left.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Lifts 12th homer

Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Gimenez has hit a rough patch, going 5-for-29 over his last nine games. His homer Friday was his first extra-base hit in that span. The second baseman remains in the lineup on a regular basis, slashing .241/.311/.390 with 12 homers, 21 stolen bases, 46 RBI and 57 runs scored through 123 contests overall. The Guardians aren't short on infield options, which has resulted in Gimenez occasionally sitting versus southpaws in recent weeks.
