Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Royals' Adam Frazier: Resting for series finale
Frazier is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Astros.
Frazier appears to be receiving a veteran's day off for the afternoon game after he started at second base in both of the previous two contests while going 1-for-6 with two walks, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base. Nick Loftin will step in for Frazier at the keystone.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Another multi-hit game
Semien went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.
Semien logged a second consecutive two-hit game. It's been feast or famine for the second baseman, who in 12 games played has seven multi-hit efforts and five in which he's had zero hits.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Royals' Adam Frazier: Picks up steal in win
Frazier went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 11-2 win over the Astros.
Frazier hasn't done much with the bat so far, hitting .231 with no extra-base hits over 31 plate appearances through 11 games. The second baseman has added three RBI, three runs scored and a 5:3 BB:K. Frazier is seeing a bit less than a strong-side platoon role at the keystone -- he has sat in favor of Nick Loftin against a couple of right-handed hitters, making the position more of a 50-50 split early in the campaign. Frazier could see his role reduced further once Michael Massey (back), who has been on a rehab assignment since Friday, is activated from the injured list.

Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM
Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Rehab shifts to Triple-A
Bae (hip) had his rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.
Bae began a rehab assignment Sunday and appeared in only one game with Single-A Bradenton before moving to Indianapolis. That suggests he's nearing a return, though an exact timeline for his 2024 debut remains unclear.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Mashes go-ahead homer
Westburg went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run during Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Red Sox.
Westburg belted his second long ball of 2024, taking Chris Martin yard in the seventh inning to give Baltimore the lead and eventual victory. The 25-year-old broke out of a slump, having entered the game 2-for-15 over his previous four games. With Jackson Holliday now up in the big leagues, Westburg will likely see most of his time at third base.

Edouard Julien 2B | COL
Twins' Edouard Julien: Homers twice in win
Julien went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Dodgers.
Julien led off the home half of the first with an opposite-field shot off Bobby Miller, tying the game 1-1, before cranking a second homer off left-hander Alex Vesia in the fifth, putting Minnesota ahead 3-2. It's the first multi-hit game of the season for the 24-year-old Julien -- he'd gone just 3-for-28 with a 35.5 percent strikeout rate in his first nine games this year. Despite his early struggles, Julien appears to be locked in as the Twins' leadoff hitter against right-handed pitching after slashing .263/.381/.459 with 16 homers, 60 runs scored and 37 RBI in 408 plate appearances as a rookie.

Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: On bench against southpaw
Valdez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
The lefty-hitting Valdez is on the bench Wednesday while southpaw Cole Irvin takes the hill for Baltimore. The righty-hitting Pablo Reyes will step in for Valdez on Wednesday, and the two could continue to form a platoon at the keystone until Vaughn Grissom (groin) is ready to return from the injured list.
-
Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Steps in for injured Moncada
Sosa will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Sosa went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored while starting at second base in Tuesday's 7-5 win, but he looks as though he could be in store for an everyday role at the hot corner moving forward. The White Sox placed Yoan Moncada on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor strain that's expected to keep him sidelined for 3-to-6 months, and Sosa will get the first chance to replace him in the lineup.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Slides down to No. 6 spot
Torres will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game versus the Marlins.
He had been in the leadoff spot in each of his first 12 starts this season, but Anthony Volpe will be at the top of the batting order Wednesday. Torres is slashing just .200/.281/.240 this season.
