Frazier is not starting Thursday against the Angels.

Frazier will sit with lefty Tyler Anderson on the mound for the Angels, and he's now been in the lineup for only two of six games against southpaws this season. Jared Triolo will start at second base and hit eighth.

Gelof (wrist) is expected to begin a rehab assignment early next week, Jason Burke of SI.com reports.

Gelof has yet to play this season but has resumed taking batting practice and running the bases this week. He will report directly to Triple-A Las Vegas and is expected to get at least 35 at-bats, meaning a mid-May return remains realistic.

Sosa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Twins.

Sosa got the White Sox on the board in the second inning, when he took the first pitch of the at-bat from Chris Paddack deep to left-center field for a solo homer. It was Sosa's second home run of the season (the first of which took place on Opening Day), and he's recorded at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games, going 12-for-36 (.333) over that span.

Farmer isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Royals.

Farmer went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the first game of Thursday's twin bill, and he'll now watch the beginning of Game 2 from the bench. His absence will open up shortstop for Aaron Schunk to pick up a start and bat ninth against Michael Lorenzen.

Goodrum retired from professional baseball Wednesday.

Goodrum had been playing with Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets organization, where he had posted a .791 OPS in 12 games this season. The 33-year-old was a career .224/.297/.383 hitter over parts of seven major-league seasons, although he had not seen extensive action at the big-league level since 2021.

The Rays recalled Montes from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

The 28-year-old was sent back to Triple-A last Thursday but will now return after a week in the minors to give the Rays some bench depth following Jake Mangum's (groin) move to the IL. Montes owns a .489 OPS through 51 plate appearances at Durham this season, so he shouldn't be expected to contribute much while with the big club.

Holliday is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Nationals, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

It's tough lefty MacKenzie Gore on the bump for the Nationals, so the lefty-swinging Holliday will begin the festivities on the bench. Jorge Mateo is covering second base and will bat ninth for the Orioles.

Rivas went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Red Sox.

Since being recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on April 9, Rivas has started at second base in five of the Mariners' ensuing 12 games. Three of those five starts have come against left-handed starting pitchers, and the switch-hitting Rivas will remain in the lineup at the keystone again Thursday while the Red Sox send southpaw Garrett Crochet to the hill. Rivas will likely continue to occupy the short side of a platoon at second base with the right-handed-hitting Dylan Moore, who typically plays elsewhere around the diamond or in the outfield when the Mariners face lefties.

Amador is not in the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader in Kansas City.

The Rockies will go with Kyle Farmer at second base in the first game of the double dip. Amador will likely be back in the lineup for the second contest.

The Twins placed Castro on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right oblique strain.

Castro hasn't played in more than a week and the Twins have finally relented and placed the super-utility player on the IL. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, the switch-hitting Castro has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain. While Castro can hit pain-free from the right side, he isn't able to swing left-handed without feeling tightness. He's eligible for activation May 1, and he sounds like he'll have a shot to return at that time.
