Forsythe (shoulder) was available for late-game duty Wednesday, and should be ready to be reinserted into the starting lineup Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After getting hit by a pitch Monday and the missing the subsequent two games against the Mariners, the 29-year-old is apparently ready for his regular workload to resume. He's enjoying an outstanding season to date, and his current .308 average sits 53 points higher than his career .256 figure.

Espinosa went 1-for-3 with a solo homer that ended up being the difference in a 3-2 win over Detroit on Wednesday.

Espinosa's now hit safely in five straight, bringing his average over the Mendoza Line in the process, and and he's going to need to keep it up with top prospect Trea Turner looking MLB-ready in Triple-A action. Espinosa has about three weeks until the Nats can call up Turner while retaining his rights for an extra year, and he's going to need to prove himself as a legitimate starter in that time if he wants to hold off the 22-year-old. It doesn't seem overwhelmingly likely that he'll be able to do so for long.

Forsythe (shoulder) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

Forsyte has been battling a shoulder issue for the past couple of days, and he was held out of action Tuesday as a result. The Rays continue to consider Forsythe day-to-day, and Steve Pearce will get the nod in his place Wednesday.

Tomlinson went 3-for-3 in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Blue Jays.

The 25-year-old was essentially the entirety of the Giants offense on a night in which they were largely stymied by Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ. His success was fitting, considering he's enjoyed a highly productive month to date. Tomlinson has reached base safely in all seven games in May that he's recorded an at-bat, and has a six-game hitting streak. That tally includes three multi-hit outings, although all but one of his 11 hits over that span have been singles. The second-year pro's positional versatility has enabled him to log spot starts at both shortstop and second base this season, a trait that should earn him a moderate amount of playing time throughout the campaign.

Marte (ankle) returned to the field Tuesday to hit in batting practice, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

He left the field with a trainer during batting practice after appearing to tweak his ankle, but it seems Marte's good to go. The 22-year-old is still penciled in atop the order for Seattle against Rays lefty Drew Smyly.

The 22-year-old Marte is currently slated to lead off against lefty Drew Smyly, but he apparently tweaked his ankle during BP. While he walked off the field under his own power, the Mariners could always end up scratching him from the lineup if they have any reservations about his health.

A Felix Hernandez pitch hit Forsythe on the shoulder Monday, but fortunately, it seems the second baseman avoided any kind of serious injury. X-rays on the shoulder were negative, and his availability off the bench Tuesday suggests it won't be long before he's back in the lineup. Forsythe has been a top-12 option at second base in mixed leagues to this point.

Marte will bat leadoff Tuesday against the Rays.

Coming off a career game (4-for-5 with two doubles and a homer), the switch-hitting Marte will move atop the order against lefty Drew Smyly. It marks Marte's third time leading off this season. Nori Aoki now has a .460 OPS against same-handed pitching, but he has a .352 OBP against right-handed pitching and the Mariners have given no indication that a permanent change in the leadoff spot is coming.

X-rays came back negative on Forsythe's shoulder, but the club will still exercise caution and hold him out at least for Tuesday's game. Tim Beckham will fill in at the keystone in his stead and bat seventh against Wade Miley.

Drury is in the lineup and batting second for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Drury will start in right field for David Peralta who is out with a right forearm injury. The 23-year-old has been outstanding through 28 games, hitting .298/.321/.577 with six home runs, 13 RBI, and 16 extra-base hits.
