Garcia was promoted to High-A Potomac on Wednesday and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in his Carolina League debut.

Garcia moved up a rung on the minor-league ladder after slashing .294/.334/.398 with eight stolen bases and a 20:49 BB:K over 323 plate appearances. It's not eye-popping production, but the fact that Garcia merely held his own offensively as an 18-year-old in the South Atlantic League while playing an up-the-middle spot is reason enough to get excited about his long-term potential. He's likely to make his biggest fantasy impact in the steals or batting average categories, but his six-foot, 190-pound frame offers some power projection, too.

Albies went 3-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Yankees.

After seeing his 11-game hitting streak snapped Monday, Albies has roared back with five hits in the last two contests. The 21-year-old is locked in once again, hitting .356 (32-for-90) over his last 20 games with four homers, two steals, 14 RBI and 15 runs.

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Rodriguez grabbed a pair of hits on his major-league debut back on May 31 but then when hitless in his next 10 games before being sent down. He'll have a chance to add to his hit total this time around, likely in a utility role. Dixon Machado was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Tomlinson is expected to be optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic Bay Area reports.

Tomlinson was called up Wednesday and inserted into the starting lineup, but he's unlikely to remain with the team for more than a day. The Giants will need a roster spot with Johnny Cueto (elbow) returning from the disabled list, and Tomlinson is likely to be the player forced to make way.

Tomlinson will jump straight into the starting lineup, batting eighth and playing third base against the Rockies. In 47 games with the Giants earlier this season, he hit a disappointing .216/.281/.270. Pierce Johnson was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Torres was put on the 10-day DL effective Thursday due to a right hip strain.

Since the Yankees are effectively waiting to place Torres on the DL until Thursday, he will not be eligible to return until after the All-Star break. While he's out, Neil Walker will receive a majority of the starts at second base. Torres should be back to full health by the time the second half of the season starts since manager Aaron Boone classified this injury as mild, though the Yankees failed to comment on a timetable.

Torres left Wednesday's game with right hip tightness and is undergoing an MRI, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Torres was left out of the starting lineup Tuesday -- though he did come in as a defensive replacement -- and it was clear that he wasn't right during Wednesday's game. He struck out in both of his at-bats and didn't seem comfortable at the plate, so manager Aaron Boone decided to pull the plug and send him in for some tests. Expect an update on the severity of his injury following the MRI.

Rosario is out of the lineup against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Rosario will head to the bench after going 0-for-4 during Tuesday's loss. In his place, Jose Reyes will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

Torres was forced to exit Wednesday's contest prior to the fifth inning, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.

Torres had been dealing with a hip issue that was likely the culprit in his removal from the matinee. Manager Aaron Boone previously stated that this has been a lingering issue for Torres, though he stressed that it "wasn't a big deal," per Marc Carig of The Athletic. Look for an update on his status in the coming hours.

Torres (hip) will man second base and bat sixth against Atlanta on Wednesday.

Torres was left out of Tuesday's starting lineup due to a stiff hip flexor, but he was able to join the contest as a defensive replacement in the eighth inning. With a scheduled day off Thursday, Torres will get some additional rest before heading into a 10-game stretch prior to the All-Star break.
