Chavis went 3-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday.

Chavis belted a game-tying homer in the eighth inning, setting the stage for the PawSox's win on minor-league Opening Day. He started the game at first base, a position on Boston's roster that should be available for Chavis in 2020.

Miller is opening the year with Double-A Amarillo, Mike Rosenbaum of MLB.com reports.

He hit .336/.368/.495 with a pair of home runs and a 14.9 percent strikeout rate in 26 games at Low-A after the Padres selected him in the third round of last year's draft. Even with that impressive performance, this is still a pretty aggressive assignment by the Padres, skipping Miller over High-A after just 26 games at Low-A. It will be difficult for Miller to break through as an everyday infielder in this organization, so a trade would be welcomed.

Torres went 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs, a double, two runs and four RBI in the Yankees' 8-4 win over the Orioles on Thursday.

It was a monster day at the dish for the young infielder, who picked up his first two long balls of the season, touching up Baltimore's Alex Cobb with a solo shot in the third inning before adding another against Mike Wright in the sixth. Torres was hitting seventh in this contest, but he's now slashing .357/.379/.643 over 28 at-bats and was deployed in the cleanup spot earlier this week. If he continues to rake, it could compel manager Aaron Boone to increase his opportunities hitting higher in the order, especially with Miguel Andujar (shoulder) on the injured list.

Jackson is opening the year in extended spring training, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

This comes as a bit of a surprise, as Jackson was pretty impressive last season in rookie ball and his teammate from the same draft class, Jordyn Adams, was given the assignment to Low-A. It seems like we may have to wait until short-season leagues open in mid-June to see Jackson make his 2019 debut, likely back in the Pioneer League.

Turang will begin his season with Low-A Wisconsin, according to Mike Rosenbaum of MLB.com.

Turang appeared in 42 rookie-league games after being selected in the first round last summer, and the Brewers saw enough to have him open 2019 playing full-season ball for the first time. Turang had good results in his first year as a professional, hitting .283/.396/.352 while posting a 31:34 BB:K and notching 14 steals in 16 attempts.

Semien went 1-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Semien was a thorn in the side of the Red Sox for the night, even swiping his first bag of the season in the eighth to put himself in position to eventually score the tying run at the time on Ramon Laureano's groundout. Semien has now reached safely in eight of the first nine games of the season courtesy of five walks, two doubles and a home run.

Torres will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Thursday's game against the Orioles, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

After making 21 appearances at shortstop in 2018, Torres should already be usable at either middle-infield spot in the majority of fantasy leagues, but he also looks on track to maintain eligibility at both positions heading into 2020. He'll be making his fourth appearance of the season at shortstop Thursday and should play the position regularly after the Yankees shifted Troy Tulowitzki (calf) to the injured list, joining Didi Gregorius (elbow) there.

Frazier went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and one RBI against St. Louis on Wednesday.

The left-handed hitter showed his power stroke, hitting a first-inning double near the base of the left-center wall. Frazier also swiped his first bag of the season, matching his 2018 total in 113 games. The second baseman stole nine bases in 14 attempts two years ago and may be asked to run more often as the team's leadoff man.

McNeil (knee) will start at third base and bat sixth Thursday against the Nationals.

McNeil received a maintenance day in Wednesday's series finale versus the Marlins to tend to the knee issue, which proved to be only a minor concern. Assuming he incurs no setbacks while playing Thursday, McNeil should continue to fill an everyday role at third base while the Mets wait for either Todd Frazier (oblique) or Jed Lowrie (knee) to make it back from the injured list.

Albies went 3-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a solo home run Wednesday against the Cubs.

Albies took Jon Lester deep in the third inning to record his first home run of the season. He later reached base on a walk and stole second, his second swiped bag of the campaign. It's been a quick start to the season for him, as he's collected at least one hit in every game this season and now has two three-hit efforts.
