Lowe will head to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

With Detroit set to roll out a lefty in Ryan Carpenter for the series opener, Lowe will get the night off. Daniel Robertson is slated to start at the keystone and hit ninth in Lowe's absence.

McNeil (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

McNeil spent just slightly longer than the minimum 10 days on the injured list with a hamstring strain. With Robinson Cano (quadriceps) still out, McNeil lines up as the starting second baseman for now, but he may shift back out to left field once Cano is reinstated from the injured list.

Castro was recalled from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Tuesday's game against the Rays.

Castro appears to be over a minor oblique issue that kept him out of the big leagues near the end of May when the Tigers needed a middle infielder, so he'll replace Jeimer Candelario (shoulder), who was moved to the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Castro is 5-for-22 with a double over nine games this year with Detroit.

Tomlinson signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Saturday.

Tomlinson slashed .218/.320/.276 in 30 games with the Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate in Reno before he was released May 12. As he changes organizations, the 28-year-old will stick around in the Pacific Coast League and provide some depth in the infield for Tacoma.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said Sunday that Rojas is someone that is "seriously being considered for a spot if something comes up in the big leagues," Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Rojas, a 24-year-old infielder who plays second and third base, entered the season with little fanfare in prospect circles. The 2017 26th-round pick has overcome his modest pedigree to put himself on the cusp of the big leagues thanks to his outstanding production in the high minors. Rojas opened the season at Double-A Corpus Christi and posted a .967 OPS to go with 13 steals in 44 games, which earned him a promotion to Triple-A Round Rock last week. He's found early success at the dish in his first taste of Triple-A and could make his MLB debut later in 2019 if another injury hits the Houston infield or the respective rehabs of Jose Altuve (hamstring) and Aledmys Diaz (hamstring) proceed slower than anticipated.

Chavis went 2-for-4 with a triple, RBI and a run Sunday in the Red Sox's 8-5 win over the Yankees.

Chavis' second-inning single ended a three-game hitless streak, which qualifies as a slump for the rookie in what has been an otherwise impressive debut campaign. The 24-year-old has been seeing more action at first base of late with Mitch Moreland (back) and Steve Pearce (back) on the injured list, but he'll still have an everyday role waiting for him at the keystone once those two injured players return to full health.

Rengifo is not starting Monday against the Cubs.

Rengifo is hitting .308/.404/.436 over his last 11 games. He'll hit the bench Monday, with the newly promoted Taylor Ward starting at third base and Tommy La Stella sliding over to second.

Rosario went 3-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

The shortstop did a great job setting the table from the leadoff spot, but the Mets' two through four hitters went a combined 0-for-12 behind him. Rosario had been in a rut of his own, going 0-for-13 in his prior three games, and the 23-year-old is now slashing .254/.298/.411 on the year with six homers, five steals, 21 runs and 29 RBI in 56 contests.

Arroyo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Twins.

Arroyo took Blake Parker deep in the eighth inning to record his second homer of the season, and second in as many days. Even with Yandy Diaz (hand) back in the lineup Sunday, Arroyo drew the start at third base. However, his playing will come under further pressure when Avisail Garcia (hamstring) and Tommy Pham (lower leg) can return to the lineup.

Marte went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a victory over the Mets on Sunday.

Marte teed off against Steven Matz leading off the bottom of the first inning, crushing a sinker 482 feet to center field to tie Nomar Mazara for the longest home run hit in the majors this season. He also plated two runs with a single to cap the scoring for Arizona in the eighth. Marte now has 13 homers this season, only one behind his career high established last year. During his current 10-game hitting streak, he has gone 18-for-47 (.383) with four home runs and eight runs batted in.
