  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Returns to action

Diaz (knee) returned to the lineup for Triple-A New Orleans on Monday, going 0-for-3 with two walks and a run scored.

He has been battling some knee soreness, but there were no structural issues found and Diaz avoided the injured list, as expected. Through 72 games with New Orleans this season, Diaz is batting .288/.377/.542 with 16 home runs and a 22.1 percent strikeout rate, down from 29 percent at the Triple-A level in 2018. It's widely assumed that Diaz will take over at second base for Miami down the stretch, making him a viable stash in deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Successful in return

Marte returned to the lineup and went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Monday's 8-5 win over the Dodgers.

Marte started at second base after missing two consecutive games with a hamstring injury and extended his hitting streak to seven games. All seven games during the streak have been multi-hit performances, as Marte has gone 19-for-29 with seven extra-base hits, four RBI and nine runs scored.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Nearing rehab assignment

Hoerner (wrist) could begin playing in rehab games in Arizona this weekend, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Hoerner is nearing a return to game action after spending the past two months on the shelf with a wrist injury. Prior to landing on the shelf near the end of April, the well-regarded youngster slashed .300/.391/.500 with one homer and one stolen base in 18 games with Double-A Tennessee.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Not in lineup

Rodgers is not in Monday's lineup against the Giants, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers has started three straight games at shortstop with Trevor Story (thumb) on the injured list, going 0-for-10 with five strikeouts during that stretch. Pat Valaika is starting at shortstop in this one.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Returns to lineup

Marte (groin) is back in the lineup as expected for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Marte didn't play Saturday or Sunday due to a groin cramp but is back as expected for Monday's contest. He'll bat second and play second base against the Dodgers.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Could see time in CF

Rosario could see some action in center field later in the season, Russell Dorsey of MLB.com reports. "He's still our starting shortstop. There's nothing imminent," Mets manager Mickey Callaway said Sunday. "It's just something we're thinking about and maybe preparing for."

While Callaway phrased the plan as the Mets wanting to have more lineup versatility, Rosario's defensive struggles at shortstop this season have certainly played a part in any thoughts of a position switch for the 23-year-old. The fact that the club is getting little offense from Juan Lagares or Carlos Gomez is also a factor. On the season, Rosario is slashing .257/.297/.417 with eight homers and nine steals in 75 games -- numbers which would have significantly less long-term fantasy appeal from an outfielder than a middle infielder.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Expected to play Monday

Marte (groin) was available off the bench for Sunday's game against the Giants, Julia Stambaugh and Jenna Ortiz of the Arizona Republic reports.

Marte missed games Saturday and Sunday after sustaining a left groin cramp Friday, but was feeling better and eager to play, per the comments of manager Torey Lovullo. "I decided that the best thing would be to just use him off the bench today if needed and gear him up for the series starting tomorrow," said the manager. That sounds like Lovullo is expecting Marte to play Monday when Arizona kicks off a home series against the Dodgers.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Steals 16th base

Andrus went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-4 win over the White Sox.

After an injury-plagued 2018 campaign, Andrus has re-established himself as a valuable fantasy asset. He's slashing .304/.340/.464 with seven homers, 43 RBI, 16 stolen bases and 44 runs scored on the year.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Knocks leadoff homer

Altuve went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

Altuve led things off with a solo shot off of J.A. Happ, marking his 10th home run of the season and first since returning from the injured list earlier in the week. In five games since returning, the second baseman has gone 7-for-23 (.304) with a pair of doubles and a home run.

  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Nursing sore knee

Diaz has been out of the lineup the last two days at Triple-A New Orleans due to a sore knee, Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio reports.

Diaz is enjoying a strong season for the Baby Cakes with a .292/.377/.549 slash line and 16 home runs in 71 games, but he's taking a few days off after tweaking his knee. The 22-year-old isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list and should return to action within the next couple days.
