Red Sox's Michael Chavis: Team hopes for weekend return
Red Sox manager Alex Cora is targeting a weekend return for Chavis (shoulder/side), Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Chavis appeared to be getting over a shoulder injury when he experienced discomfort in his side over the weekend. "We're trying to shoot for the weekend," Cora said. "I think he feels better. I talked to (head trainer) Brad (Pearson) a little bit. It's a shame because he was swinging the bat well. He made some adjustments and he was feeling a lot better with his shoulder. But this happened. But hopefully the next few days he'll start hitting soft toss and hitting off the tee. Start his progression. By the end of the week, the goal is for him to be OK." The 24-year-old Chavis is batting just .221 since the All-Star break.

Josh Rojas 3B | KC
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Getting comfortable
Rojas went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Padres.
Rojas, who has collected six hits in the last two games, told Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic that he's finally feeling comfortable at the plate, three weeks into his MLB tenure. "I'm seeing pitches well, I'm staying in the zone a lot better, not swinging at pitches out of the zone like I was early when I first came up," Rojas said. "I do feel better, but I couldn't say why that is." The Arizona native has hit safely in six straight games, going 10-for-22 with two home runs, two doubles, six runs and six RBI.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Makes outfield start
Marte started in center field and went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a run scored in Tuesday's 2-1 win over San Diego.
Marte made his first start in the outfield since missing time with a hamstring injury. He had started at second base the previous two games before slotting into center field, an indication the hamstring is no longer a bother.

Padres' Luis Urias: Will play out season at shortstop
Urias will remain at shortstop for the remainder of the season, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Urias has struggled both defensively and offensively since making the transition, committing seven errors and hitting .167 in 18 games. Per Lin, manager Andy Green stated that Urias will need to earn a starting position next season.

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Big night at plate
McNeil went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Nationals.

Just one frame later, he came through with a two-RBI single to extend the Mets' lead. McNeil had struggled since coming off the injured list Aug. 24, collecting just three hits across his first 25 at-bats. However, he's now reached base multiple times and homered in consecutive games. For the season, McNeil still owns a stellar .323/.390/.529 line across 480 plate appearances.
