Polanco isn't in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Kansas City.

The Twins clinched the division title Wednesday, allowing the team to rest some of their starters heading into the final weekend of the regular season. Ronald Torreyes will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth.

Arraez isn't in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Kansas City.

Arraez went 0-for-5 in Thursday's series finale, and he'll head to the bench Friday with only a few games remaining in the regular season. Jonathan Schoop will get the call at the keystone and bat seventh.

Drury is not in the lineup Friday against the Rays.

Drury had started each of the last five games, appearing at shortstop and both infield corners. Rowdy Tellez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will man the corners Friday, with Richard Urena starting at shortstop.

Wong went 0-for-4 and scored a run in a victory over Houston on Thursday.

Wong was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Tuesday and made his debut with the club Thursday when he entered as a pinch runner for Brian Goodwin in the second inning. He came around to score on a sacrifice fly but otherwise had a quiet night. Goodwin is expected to miss at least one game with back spasms, perhaps giving the versatile Wong -- who has spent time playing multiple positions in both the infield and outfield -- an opportunity to nab a start over the final weekend of the season.

Dubon (chest) led off and went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a pair of runs scored in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Rockies.

The Giants underwent a youth movement Thursday, surrounding Evan Longoria and Kevin Pillar with a bunch of younger options, opening the door for Dubon to lead off. The 25-year-old did not disappoint in the elevated role, and he has performed well in his first season as a pro (.280/.316/.462 with four homers and three steals through 27 games). The start also confirms that the minor chest injury Dubon suffered Wednesday is not a concern as we head into the final series of the regular season.

Mayfield went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Angels on Thursday.

Mayfield collected the first hit in his latest big-league stint the fifth inning, drilling a long ball to left field to temporarily tie the score. The 28-year-old belted 28 homers and batted .287 in 100 games with Triple-A Round Rock this season but has enjoyed considerably less success in the majors, hitting only .136 with a pair of homers and 16 strikeouts in 59 at-bats.

Rosario is not in Thursday's lineup against the Marlins.

It appears to be a routine day off for Rosario, who has started the past 20 games, slashing .299/.333/.468 with three home runs and four steals over that stretch. Luis Guillorme is starting at shortstop in his place Thursday.

Hoerner is not in the lineup Thursday against the Pirates.

The Cubs are trotting out mostly reserves for Thursday's series finale after getting eliminated from playoff contention Wednesday. Addison Russell is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh in place of Hoerner.

McNeil (wrist) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

This move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Dominic Smith (foot), who was activated from the 60-day IL on Thursday. According to Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record, McNeil will likely undergo surgery to repair his fractured right wrist Tuesday. The procedure typically carries a six-week recovery timeline, so he should be ready to go by the start of spring training.

Lux is not starting Thursday against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Lux will head to the bench Thursday with a left-hander in Joey Lucchesi starting for the Padres. In his place, Max Muncy is starting at second base and hitting fourth.
