Rengifo (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The hamstring injury that knocked Rengifo out of Friday's game against the Dodgers will wind up ending his season prematurely. He'll finish his second big-league season with a .156/.269/.200 slash line in 106 plate appearances. Jahmai Jones was recalled to take his place on the roster and will start at second base Saturday.

Jones was recalled from the alternate training site Saturday and is starting at second base against the Dodgers, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old will bat eighth in the first start of his career as he takes the roster spot of Luis Rengifo (hamstring), who was placed on the injured list. Jones had a brief stint on the active roster earlier this year but made only one appearance as a pinch runner. Jones spent the 2019 campaign at Double-A and posted a .234/.308/.324 slash line with five homers and nine stolen bases in 130 games.

Semien is not starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Seattle.

The Athletics have clinched the division, so there's no need for them to ask their star hitters to play twice in one day. Nate Orf will take over at shortstop in his absence.

Gimenez was placed on the 10-day injured list with right oblique tightness after Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The 22-year-old was lifted from Saturday's matinee with the oblique issue, and he'll end up missing the final two games of the season. Gimenez will finish his rookie campaign with a .263/.333/.398 slash line, three homers, 12 RBI and eight stolen bases in 132 plate appearances. Amed Rosario will take over at shortstop for the Mets in the nightcap.

Arraez (knee/ankle) was activated from the 10-day injured list and will start Saturday against the Reds, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Arraez will return after an absence that lasted over two weeks. He first missed time with knee tendinitis before suffering a minor ankle sprain during his recovery. He's evidently past both issues now, however, and he'll get a pair of games in over the weekend as a tuneup for the postseason.

Gimenez exited Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals due to right oblique tightness, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports

Gimenez tweaked his oblique during an at-bat in the top of the second inning, and the injury could bring his promising rookie season to an end. If he's indeed sidelined for the final two games of the regular season, Amed Rosario could take over as the shortstop.

Gimenez appeared to tweak something when fouling a ball off in the top of the second inning, and he was replaced by Amed Rosario in the middle of his at-bat. It wasn't clear what kind of injury he suffered and whether he'll be available for the Mets' final two games of the regular season remains to be seen.

Torres isn't in Saturday's lineup against the Marlins.

Torres is the only regular starter not in the lineup, but manager Aaron Boone said before the game that he's fine. Tyler Wade will start at shortstop in his absence Saturday.

Torres went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a 4-3 loss to the Marlins on Friday.

Torres got on base for the first time with a walk to open the bottom of the 10th inning and would later steal second, but he did not score. The 23-year-old is hitting .242/.359/.371 with three home runs, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored in 41 games this season.

Rengifo suffered a right hamstring strain during Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Rengifo was removed from Friday's contest in the seventh inning after hitting a single. With just two games remaining in the regular season, it's unclear whether Rengifo will return in 2020.
